Welcome back Niv. Did you have a good time?

Chi-town was okay. Here's how my trip went:
Night one:
- Flight delayed. I keep my streak of delayed flights alive as this plane narrowly avoids having to go to Detroit to refuel. That's how long we were in the air.
- Blue Line subway traveling. I used to live in Harlem (NY) and there was Harlem... I used to live on Division Street (NJ) and there was Division Street... that amused me greatly.
- My Hotel- Damn that was swanky. Thanks Gov't!

- First meal in Chicago- I wanted a taste of real Chicago pizza so I searched for a dive and found one. The pizza was okay.
- Late night dessert- Holy crap, it's ten and everything is closed around here. I've been too pampered by NY & NJ.
- Sears Tower- Hey I found it. Now, how do I get back to the hotel? crap.
Day one/Night two:
- Yum, breakfast buffet
- The conference is like being in college. 5 classes worth of stuff. That was rough but worth it for the job. But it runs long and takes out a lot of my opportunity choices.
- Lunch- Nothing special but ended up having a big conversation with my co-workers about Songfight.
- State Street- Travel straight up State from The Loop to about the Gold Coast. Took some pics. Tried to get a feel for the area. It felt like NY just slower. All these panhandlers make me sad.
- Dinner- the walk was too long to care about a big meal. I was tired and doing the Rachael Ray, 40 bucks a day, eating alone thing I find just isn't my style.
- Millennium Park- What the hell are those monoliths that shoot water and have creepy kiddie faces on 'em!
Day two/Night three:
- Breakfast at McD's. Starting to tire on Chicago.
- Hey, I'm at the Sears Tower again. Crap, I'm lost again, aren't I.
- Another long day at the conference but a very fulfilling one when it comes to learning worthwhile job stuff.
- Lunch at a Thai place with the co-workers. Yum.
- Dinner- My office father figure & I decide to go to dinner. After checking out some blues joints, we settle for Hard Rock Cafe. Pure turista thoroughfare but Bill's a guitar guy and we had a blast looking at all the guitars hanging up. So it was worthwhile. Catching up with a good friend- best part of the trip.
- Watched my first full episode of Big Love. I dislike greatly.
All in all, not a wild experience. The conference running til 6 every day pretty much put the kibosh on most stuff but I got to get a taste of Chicago (without getting to stay for Taste of Chicago

)
