Oh! Hey! Cool!

I'll do (EDIT:) "Andy's Chest" or "I'm set free" (Not to be confused with "I'm so free.")

But if not, then "Lady Godiva's Operation"
You've got a good point there, so yep, go ahead with the Cale

Can I be in your teenage self's band?

I'm gunna go ahead and claim "Rock & Roll". I've got my "converted-to-Wages" version, but I'm gunna let it linger for a bit before I post it. Just wanted to claim my tune!

UPDATE: Screw waiting! Here is my tune:

I'm open to doing a collab version if anyone wants to do the muzak. Peace,
Wages

Sure! Set your Delorean for 1986 and drive to Newcastle, NSW. Bring a bottle.

Remember not to go over 88mph or you'll miss Newcastle and end up in a Yahoo Serious movie.

No - not really. Arriving on the set of Young Einstein would put you in exactly the right time and place. Parts of that movie were actually filmed around the corner from the house I used to live in in Newcastle East.

OK since nasty Mr Adamant took 'Satellite of Love' I guess I will have to claim either 'Sad Song' or 'How Do you Think It Feels'. Damn it, maybe I should just cover the whole of 'Berlin'... I'll make a decision soon, but most likely it will be from 'Berlin'. Unless it's 'New York Telphone Conversation'. Ack, too much choice ...

EDIT:Oh yeah, as CR said, if anyone wants backing vox / bass / keys adding to their song, I am up for that as well. My voice is foghorn enough to pass for Nico :)

Thankyou.

I like the Yahoo movies. No one ever heard of Reckless Kelly, and those that do, hated it. I LOVED it. I wish he'd do more movies. As far as I know I've seen them all. The 3 I have on DVD are, Young Einstein, Mr. Accident and Reckless Kelly. Are there any more that never made it out of OZ?

OK - so I had this idea of doing this sounding like a Welsh mens choir backed by a string quartet.

I started recording tonight and after about an hour realised that that was a bit ambitious for just one dude with an acoustic guitar, a keyboard and not much recording time. So I will abandon this and go to my second choice "She's My Best Friend"

Though I still think Venus In Furs would be good sounding like a Welsh mens choir backed by a string quartet.

Maybe someone could re-title this thread to be "Velvet Underground CoverFight" or something similar that indicates its more specific topic.

Well, since After Hours already has the MK treatment, I'll think of another one. (And I did that one already too, I guess. Long time ago though.)

Hmm. Is anyone doing Heroin yet? (insert joke here)

EDIT: Looks like Heroin is still unclaimed, so I'm taking it.

Also: If there's a St. Peter waiting when I die, I mean to ask him just how much of my life I spent watching Geoff Wreckdom's avatars. I bet it'll clock in at over a calendar year by the time I'm done.

I just can't help being a little butterfly on this one. Scrap Shes My best Friend - I have just started work on a version of Run Run Run as suggested by BLT

And as promised, just to get the ball rolling - here is a 20 year old (hey wow - cassete tapes seem to degrade over time!) recording of a teenage Caravan Ray on Bass/vocals for The Mess doing a cover version of Joy Division's cover version of the Velvet Underground's Sister Ray:

I love those old tapes. We used to just have a boom box with a built in mic always recording just in case magic happened. I'm waiting for the day that Spud or Fluffy invents a program to separate all the vocals and instruments on an old tape, so I can remix them. I guess I could just re-record them. But I could never get the original members back together for various reasons.

Fightmaster, can I do some sort of remix of this and call it my entry? No, nevermind, I'd just fuck it up. I may do that anyway but I'm not sure I'll enter it.

Anybody called "White Light White Heat" yet? If not, I call it.
