But do you take turns leaning in and out while you're playing? And who's your choreographer?blue wrote:we record live into one mic and the rest of you are gigantic vaginas.

Actually it makes them Ulysses. As it turns out it was Robert Schneider's other band. (Rob Schneider?..ha thats kind of funny... and it's obviously not THAT Rob Schneider)fluffy wrote:Wouldn't that make them the Apples in Mono?
"So when it came time to do this record, I had a completely different vision. I’d gone through all these different things. I recorded a record with my band Ulysses that we recorded live with one microphone in a room. … And I had achieved that purity and rawness that at the time I really craved." - Robert Schneider (excerpt from Harmonium interview)

Re: "Riding the Faders"
That's pretty accurate - it's exactly what I do with my board. As I do the final mixdown, I have to do it in real time - as the song plays through, I adjust the mixers as the song plays, as well as adding/removing effects that I only wanted at one place in the song. It used to be more difficult for me, but I think the sound is better in the end, although it often takes about 10 tries to get the mix you want.Lunkhead wrote:In the old days I guess engineers would just make notes about relative level changes, then when they did a mix down they would have to actually hover over the mixing board moving the faders appropriately, though again I may not be explaining that well or accurately.
