The entire purpose of my department is to cut costs across the corporation I work for, so I'm not terribly worried. We have plenty of work and if anything we're having trouble keeping up with it all. So, I'm not too worried.

The funny thing is my department has existed (with this mission) for something like 7 years, and now that we're gaining momentum at about the same time as this economic downturn, our CEO wrote a big reassuring puff-piece about organizational-wide restructuring and cuts and the like, and of course a bunch of the "new media" types got a hold of it and went out of their ways to willfully misinterpret it to mean that the corporation is in deep trouble. But there's a lot of schadenfreude out there and I guess if the web2.0 "journalist" tards want to get some joy out of something they don't understand while their own ridiculous business models fail to generate even a semblance of solvency, I guess that's their problem.
