hello
HI
i'm owl
i live in Madison, Wisconsin
I make music in Gentle Brontosaurus:
https://gentlebrontosaurus.bandcamp.com/
and in Vowl Sounds (i think my bandmate will be along presently as well with his own introductions now that our accounts have been approved):
https://www.facebook.com/vowlsoundsmusic
I recognize several of you from FAWM and 50/90!
@furrypedro recruited me as one of his guest vocalists for Nur Ein Round 3, so I found out about the site, took a look around and liked the Cassini prompt, so we made it into a Vowl Sounds song and here I am. I'm not really a very competitive person, so my first entry here (1.5th entry?) may also be my last, but I thought I should at least come in and introduce myself.

Re: hello
Welcome. Don't stress out about the competitive aspect. Just make fun music.

Howdy. Yeah, don't stress on the competition side of things. Use the titles and prompts to nudge something creative in you.
Good to see you here and looking forward to hearing your songs.

Re: hello
Thank you for links. I had a quick listen to Gentle Brontosausaus - very impressive, as was your cameo with Pedro. I am sure you can provide an adequate level of awesomeness here.

Re: hello
I'm just going to join in here as the other half of Vowl Sounds rather than start my own thread.
Hello! I'm Tom. I make music as Vom Vorton, and I also have probably crossed paths with many of you during FAWM, which I've been doing since 2008, somehow. I've been meaning to have a go at songfighting since... long ago. I live in Matlock in Derbyshire, England.
Some of my solo songs are here: https://vomvorton.bandcamp.com/

Re: hello
Hi there! Please be awesome! (This is one of the traditional greetings for new players, by the way... the other one is "please don't suck".
)
Heads up: if you're mostly familiar with the feedback songs get on FAWM and 50/90, you'll notice some differences here. People will tell you what they like about your songs, but they also won't be shy about telling you what they don't like or what they think could be done much better. Some of it will not be terribly constructive, but personally I've always found it worth digging my way through those kinds of reviews for the others, some of which are genuinely helpful. It's really not about winning here if you ask me. We have some Fighters who submitted 90 songs before their first win, and plenty who never won... but the real magic is in getting honest feedback and (in most cases) being able to ask for more details.
Looking forward to your submission(s)!

Re: hello
Never heard of Princeton, but I do love flea markets, so maybe I'll do a road trip up there one of these days and try to pick you out from among the throngs of accordionists.

Re: hello
I didn't get a chance to review the "Cassini" fight, but I greatly enjoyed Vowl Sounds' entry. I hope we hear more from you fine folks!
