Glenn Case - In This Moment
There were warning signs that you ignored
Acted against your own interests, the same as before
I hope that I'm wrong
It's unfolding in steps
The worst of this hasn't happened
At least as of yet
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
When things fall apart, don't say a word
I gave you more credit than you deserved
I hope that I'm wrong
It's unfolding in steps
The worst of this hasn't happened
At least as of yet
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
In this moment (In this moment)
Attempt to mitigate the impact ahead
Soon we'll both know it (We'll both know)
We're already dead
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
You get what you get
We get what we get
And in this moment
We get what we get
Impact's ahead
We get what we get
Soon we'll both know it
We get what we get
And we're all dead
Oblique Strategy/Challenge: Honor thy error as a hidden intention
“The trouble with trying to make the right accident happen is that it won't. That is not what "accident" means.”
― Douglas Adams
Played live drums because I'd say it's by far the worst thing I play regularly. I anticipated that I would make way more mistakes, and that paid off for the challenge. Most obvious mistake is the kick and cymbal that come in at the beginning, which was 4 beats sooner than I wanted. I made the same mistake on a guitar part in a later take, so I kept it in. Helps it sound slightly more intentional, but it was another genuine accident. Also missed the first snare in the bridge section after chorus 2.
The first chord of the pre-chorus was not the intended chord but it still sounded pretty cool, so I rolled with it. Additionally, I screwed up the rhythm in that section, coming in sooner than intended for the 7th chord in the sequence. An uninentional improvement.
There are also audio artifacts from one of the guitar parts that bleed through in the intro. I threw a noise gate on the guitar track, but it was not effective in silencing the sound.
