Re: What's the chances (It's Probably Gonna Be Fine reviews)
Berkeley Social Scene: I'm loving pretty much everything about this one. The only bad thing I have to say is I feel like the vocals are a tiny bit too low in the mix, but otherwise a great song.
Grid: Quite a sparse arrangement but I like it, its sort of relaxing and yet also unnerving, maybe partly the lyrical content and tone of the vocals.
Johnny Cashpoint: again, a mix of happy, but also slightly unsettling. I love the guitar sound, somehow it sounds pretty much like a sawtooth.
Paco del Stinko: It reminds me of something, but I can't think of what, I like what the drums are doing, as well as the slightly disgruntled sounding guitar.
Pigfarmer Jr: Loving the major third in the verses, and in general I love what everything is doing in this.
Tomdg: I really like the chorus, it sort of sounds vaguely nostalgic, and the minor 4 chord is always a nice touch. The choir vocals at the end are a nice touch too.
V4nnim3l: That's me! working on this one, I basically had the final thing done in a couple of days, every time I tried to improve it, I just felt like I'd made it worse. I feel like this is probably one of the least mellow things I've written but its still quite calm compared to what everyone else has done. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Re: What's the chances (It's Probably Gonna Be Fine reviews)
These are all great!
Berkeley Social Scene: Loving the arpeggiated guitar in the verse. Chorus is catchy too. Like the twin riffing guitars in the bridge and at the end. Easily enough goodness and interest to justify its length.
Grid: This is really disturbing from the outset. Love the sparseness of the arrangement.
Johnny Cashpoint: Like the choppy chords under the grizzly bear section. I'm not keen on the guitar following the vocal (or is it the other way round), personally prefer when they harmonise or counter each other. Lyrics are funny and tight.
Paco del stinko: Count in
Like the first chord change. The relative rhyme is brilliant. The chords in the verse are really creative too. This could totally be They Might Be Giants.
Pigfarmer Jr: Love the shift from minor to major on "run" in the verse melody, the way it interacts with the guitar. Less keen on the two following each other in the chorus. Like the use of quotes in the bridge section.
v4nnim3l: Love the count-in and the languid drums. The voice sample repeating is great. Like the way the "never break another heart again" line runs over the bar. Like the guitar after the verse. Great ending with the vocal inflection. Really love the use of vocal slides in the second verse.

Very quick comments. Not a blockbuster of a fight really, but nothing anyone should be ashamed of.
Berkeley Social Scene - Yeah, this is good. Soaring and catchy with a good color palette. I'm not sure I dig the riff section when it first changes then do once it gets going although a snip wouldn't hurt. Threatens to Who but doesn't commit. Sounds great.
Grid - Rock on, David. Late night vibe, soundtrack. Light and tense sometimes simultaneously. Nice and open can hear everything, well balanced. Dig the synth sounds. not overdone.
Johnny Cashpoint - It's almost a Christmas song somehow. (?) The vibe I guess. Rough and wobbly it feels upbeat-ish. The synths start getting heady the further in we go. Sounds good on the old stereo, full.
Paco del Stinko - Had time for a quick one. Had a few to drink for the vocal give it some extra blurpage. Count-ins are on a drum mic, three.
Pigfarmer Jr - Right in the arena. The verse melody is good chorus more tossed off. Lacking a little fire overall you really gotta sell this stuff with a little more hyAH!
Tomdg - I like where this goes once it gets moving, very distant relative of a school of Squeeze or something like that. Needs some nuts-and-bolts tightened up and a bit of spark but a well-designed trip.
V4nnim3l - Good atmosphere little cold. Spoken vocal is mumbly for my ears and the lead vocal that sounds like my friend Steve 30 years ago could be tightened up but nice that it isn't all tunified. Good sketch.
