I mentioned this in collaborations too, but I'd like to do #3 with a drummer if anyone wants to lend their chops. See my post in Collaborations for more deets.

Gert wonders about the title "Crack In My Heart". Gert would be pleased to change that to "Crack In My Part".

The word "dirty" can be inserted anywhere in there as well. Anywhere that it will fit, yes.

crack in my heart

Post by jeff robertson »

I misread it as "crack in my HEAD" and wrote lyrics before I realized..

EDIT:
I've written different ones now.

Don't feel bad. Go back to "Hope You're Okay" in the music Archives and listen to the Pipefist entry. It's HORRIBLE. It was definitely our worst entry, but it was the second time I'd ever gotten stoned and made music, and I programmed the drum beats, which is something I REALLY shouldn't have been doing. I do not get stoned anymore.

As for next week, we made our song. We're in for She Gave Up. This is the first songfight entry that I've ever made that actually means something to me emotionally. I may have gotten a little choked up while making it.[/quote]

I was working on a 70's style disco tune based solely around the lyrics:

Baby, I love your buttock cleft,
Your crack is in my heart

but now I've lost interest and I'm flying to Cairns tomorrow - so you will be pleased to hear I won't be entering.

Please feel free to use my lyrics.

I don't think Pedro is the only person in Carpetburn.

Ah, that makes sense. I just checked out http://www.gocarpetburn.com; the song that plays on the music page is pretty amazing. Great stuff man.

wow ... i had so much trouble getting my entry in ... just since my email is horrible ... hope it doesn't get bashed too much, but i guess that's the heart of songfight, right  ? getting constructive criticism ... i made a cover art for crack in my heart too if anyone cares 8)

I'm just wondering ... has this 3 fight thing ever been done before or has it always been just 2 fights?

It used to be one, then two, then three, then two. Has it ever been 4? Wasn't there a CYMK fight? Either way, it changes about every couple of months or so as to whether it's 2 or 3 fights a week.
Songfighter since back in the day.

Done!

Post by jeff robertson »

Finished, submitting as we speak.

Negative reviews anticipated:

repetitive
too many damn guitars
clippy vocals
boring drums
parts "a" and "b" related only by being in the same key
unimaginative lyrics
chord progression similar but not identical to something by Billy Squire

Bring on the fight. Three hours ago I bathed a one-year-old who literally took a shit in the bathtub while being bathed. And laughed. After that, reviews don't scare me.

another thing..

Post by jeff robertson »

oh I almost forgot:

- guitar converted to bass by digital pitch shifter just sounds "off"
- every so often one or more guitars plays the wrong chord

Too late now, already submitted
