well that just sucks! I just spent almost 3 hours reviewing stuff (and drinking) only to lose everything when I clicked "submit." that took forever too.... oh well... maybe I'll do it again some other time. my opinion really shouldn't matter for most of the songs anyway

I feel that I have been remiss in not giving back feedback . So many of you writers give generously of your time and opinions. I keep my paws under the bed always lurking, never participating. I have gotten so much good, bad, wise, ignorant, insightful, cruel, feed back. I must return the favor. I will try to be helpful. I wonâ€™t comment too much on production as this site is called songfight and production can be a matter of economics, not skill. I will try not to judge by genre preference but be influenced by craft, ingenuity, heart and courage, although sometimes itâ€™s hard to sort out bravery from stupidity. I want to thank all those who have commented on my work, it is always helpfully painful and wonderfully deflating.

The intent was to refer to the subject pretending I was gone, but I can see how the delivery might not have been too clear.

Hey hey hey. If you guys don't mind, when you're doing your reviews, could you review the drums for Flvxxm Florvm? I did the drums and I kind of want some feedback on what was good and what wasn't, just so I can improve my recording skills.

EDIT: I just remembered ... Just so you guys know, I only had about 2 takes to get this song right ... we didn't have much time, and I basically learned the song first take, and recorded it second take. I'm not making excuses ... it's just so you know that I didn't put as much effort into the drums as I could have. Sorry Jeff.

Actually, except for a couple of seconds at 1:15-1:16, this is pretty much the perfect drum track for this song.

I'm much more concerned about the lack of bass.

Doug Martsch is the mastermind behind Built to Spill and half of the Halo Benders (er, well, half of the vocals, that is.)

A friend recently was saying to me "I'm so over Built to Spill." and I said, "I know what you mean, but I still love them."

"There's Nothing Wrong With Love" is a good entry-level album (with lots of double-tracked vocals.) Although my personal favorite is "Perfect From Now On."

nothing seems to fit into place... but still does... I love that! ohhh yeah... that sweet 70's funk synth bass (if that's what it is). so far so good.... drums sound recorded very well, I don't think I care for the distortion on the guitar. I'm thinking if your vocals were distorted more it would make it more enjoyable to me. the chorus puts me off a bit.. a little too "pop" sounding I guess. other than that I like this song. 6

everyone review
with the exception of 8) "the dangers" I thought alot of the songs would benefit from some type of solo. especially a vanhalen style with lots of divebombs and tapping. I think a fun optional challenge for next week should be to try to play eruption in the middle of your song.

especially if it's all acoustic.
