Whatever Happened To Cavalier?

Post by j$ »

So I spent a very pleasant hour this evening web-chattin' with the rather cool Spy Vs Pie gang for their podcast. You can now hear my witterings and desperate attempts to keep up with Phil R. & Brian F.'s speed of sound stream of consciousness banter here - http://www.spyvspie.com/popcasts/popcast24.mp3

Find out whether i sound as gay as you think I do! Find out about the D&D comeback. Hear me explain my name. Hear me and Heather bond over diet coke consumption! Hear me get a terrible pun in right at the very end! Then go and check out the previous 23 installments of this fab lil' show.

(ps I'm not the highlight - the show is the highlight!)

Fun! I have listened to this and I pronounce it A Good Thing. Phil & Brian remind me of the McKenzie Brothers at times, nice rapport. J$, I hope you're happy that I listened to this instead of working on any of the songs I'm supposed to be working on.

What, not DB&tIP songs? Doh! :) Listening back, I am pleased to report my speaking voice doesn't sound quite as stupid as I have always thought it did (which isn't saying much, however.).

I would also like to say the theory I expose half-way through -that if Uni (from the D&D cartoon series) came back with the other dungeoneers from Vengor-world, he would turn into a cow - has no basis in scientific fact.

I think you sound cool, j$. You sound a lot less tinny than i imagined you, but the insights into your thoughts on D&D, uni and male model shows is interesting. I have been thinking the same thing about the Empire from Star Wars too.

I also wanted to hear you guys rip on Aussies, but it just never happened. Disappointing.

This warrants further listening to, back catalogue wise.

Lastly, johnny, in your avatar... is there a penis coming out of the cloud under Superman?

What you though I was a robot? I shall make sure to have a vocoder installed in my throat for the next interview i do. I will also rip into aussies then. You have my word ...

The avatar - I noticed that too. Your guess is as good as mine. It's supposedly from an authentic superman strip but in this day and age of photoshopping, you can never be quite sure ....

I find Yorkshire Terriers are particularly good for punting into hedges. The smaller and yappier the better

I listened to the podcast this morning and enjoyed it quite a bit. Besides being a fun show, I enjoyed hearing Songfight folk speaking, as I did during the Fluffy audio reviews that he posted. I think that hearing the voices (no, not those voices! Shh!) drove home the point that this is music made by real people and not some puppets or something. When Frank Black became Frank Black, I heard him do a radio interview and sat rapt by the speaker as he spoke about Sizzler restaurants and such. He may well be an ass, I don't know, but it made me realize he wasn't too much different from me. Except for the talent part, of course. And I've never been to a Sizzler. Ahem.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

Yeah, apparently I did. But i expect everyone thinks i sound muffled and bassy, which is far from the case (i am actually a 13 year old schoolgirl, high pitched and squealy)
j$ wrote:I will also rip into aussies then. You have my word ...
Awesome. You might want to mention that we were the dregs of English society, shipped off. You might also want to mention we are thiefs. And we smell. Yeah.

Hopefully a similar dick-cloud scene will appear in the new Superman Returns movie.

As everyone knows, Australia is entirely populated with criminals, who are used to people not trusting them, as I am not trusted by you, therefore...

Yes - your speaking voice is deeper and less John Inman-like than I expected.
More Mr Bean than Mr Humphries.
