Snakes On a Plane

Post by jute gyte »

This movie was neither good enough nor bad enough to be enjoyable. They waste a terrific premise by playing it like a standard bland summer crisis movie with more swearing and comedic bits that fall flat. The product placement is so blatant that at one point I was reminded of I, Robot. Tepid shit that lacks the balls of its title.

I was already afraid of this one. There was no way it was going to live up to any of the hype.

I keep wondering what it is exactly that people are expecting when they see this. I've read over and over how disappointed people have been. I saw it (with Mrs. Pig on our anniversary weekend, no less) and it was PRECISELY what we expected. Stupid, goofy, cut-rate shlock.

I'm not saying it's a good film. I'm saying I'm amazed that so many people seem to have expected it to *be* a good film.

I'm with J$ and BP on this one. I saw it; it was exactly what I expected (a crappy movie about snakes.... ON A PLANE). More backstory than I was expecting from a movie that is effectively summarized by its title. Low B-

I was expecting it to be a little more intentionally awful, and over the top. Like with Sam Jackson saying "motherfucking" every other word. "snake vision" was pretty hilariously stupid. I was hoping for more stuff like that. I felt like it was just a crappy movie that had been marketed as an intentionally crappy, campy B-movie romp.
