Weekend sidefights

Post by Stubby Phillips »

This last weekend (9/15-16) sidefight was cool. Not too many songs, but something to do on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night when there's no new title up.
It might be cool to do this every weekend. We could get the title from Friday's New York Times online front page, for instance, so Spud or jb don't have to put up a title every week. Maybe use any 2 (or more) words from the upper-left headline. Then have the deadline be the following Monday night (NOT Sunday! Gotta have some time to tweak it AFTER the weekend!).
Have there been weekend sidefights before? I like the immediacy of it -- and the songs from last weekend's sidefight sound pretty good for having had just a couple days to do them. What do you think?

Short fights are usually very impromptu, and are often personal challenges between just a couple people.

Frankie Big Face and I did two overnight challenges. The challenge was issued at some point in the evening, and was due by 8 AM the next morning.

Freaky Feelin
inspired by a country song we heard while bowling:

Big Red Snack Foam
inspired by an episode of the Simpsons watched at Simpsons Trivia night at some coffee house:

If you want to do this sort of thing, I suggest that you just do it. Don't make a big thing about it, and don't try to make it anything "official." The more naturally challenges flow, the more fun everyone will have.
