From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

That's a pretty sizable gap to deal with. Think of it this way. When she was enjoying kindergarten, you were thinking about high school. Some people can deal with those huge generational gaps, most cannot.

Don't think of it that way at all! Think of it this way: she is old enough to buy cigarettes, vote, fight in a war and, according to Wiki pedia, bear arms, own property, marry without parental consent, get an abortion, donate [her] body to science, serve on a jury and be tried as an adult. I'm sure she's old enough to reject you...er, I mean, date you as well.Niveous wrote:Think of it this way. When she was enjoying kindergarten, you were thinking about high school.

I don't wanna seem ageist. I'm just saying it's a hard gap to deal with.

Age shouldn't be your first concern, whether you think she likes you should be your major concern. You can ask out whatever age, but if they don't like you, it's not gonna happen. I'd wait a few more weeks, see if she's interested, see if you're still interested, then just be casual about it. I'd be creeped out if some older guy I've only said hello to for 10 days was all "Hey, so let's go get coffee!" (Now, if they were nice, and I liked them, and everything clicked, then it would be distinctly less creepy, though still a little creepy...)
Is she an 18 year old in high school, or an 18 year old in college? I think the high school thing is what would push it into 98% creepy territory.

That's what I was saying!bzl wrote:The math is complicated here, but remember: ten years from now you will be thirty-seven and eighteen-year-olds will still be eighteen. It ain't gonna get easier, is all.
See, Bjam is an enlightened female. Although she is right about the HS thing. Especially if your new job is PE teacher at the local high school. That would be wrong. Wait until she graduates.

I dated a young un once. If you can get past the age differences, it can work. I sure couldn't. One day I said "Know what I mean, Vern?" And she said "Why the hell do you keep calling me 'Vern?'"
Plus she thought Brian Johnson was better than Bon Scott. (that's a paddlin!)

You're a 27 year old bagboy. She's 18 and is a cashier (which I'm pretty sure pays more). Do you even have a car? Is it as nice as hers? I know it sounds like I'm coming down on you really hard here, but I just want to put things into perspective.
I understand this is Kansas and maybe that stuff flies, but it seems obvious to me that a genuine relationship or whatever you seem to be interested in is completely out of the question. Let it go.

27 yr old. 18 yr old. Different places in life completely. You think you had it bad with your WoW playing ex. You could get burned a second time expecting more out of an 18 year old high school senior.Rone Rivendale wrote:And yes btw, I'm lookin for a genuine relationship. Rone, she is only missing a third of your age.
Or: you are only half again older than her.
I'd call it maybe a bad idea, but probably not regrettably bad.
Go for some dates, til' the wrongness asserts itself, but DO NOT IMPREGNATE.
