Ok, I'm definitely in this. The songs I've checked out are great so far. I'm sad I didn't get it together to get into the music portion of this one.

All right. Let's say I have a song in mind and some video clips and I would like to put the whole thing together on my computer, which is a Windows PC. What computer program(s) should I be looking for to use as an audiovisual version of a multi-track recording setup? It is extremely unlikely that I will ever do this again so I don't want to buy anything expensive and I don't want to steal any software either.

It will probably be important to be able to change the speed of parts of my video source (for purposes of synchronization) so that is a feature that I would value highly.

I think your best bet would be to D/L a trial version of a software like Vegas Video. It will expire after 30 days, but I believe has all features enabled in the trial until that time.

Edit: It looks like Premier is available as a trial too... anyone know if the trial is fully enabled?

It's a goddamn shame that I do not have a video camera.
Am I rockin' hard, or hardly rockin'?

Can someone do a quick summary of the part 2 idea (I can't get on the page at work). I imagine it has something to do with video (my personal specialty). Thanks!

1, Make a dance video of your favorite Sugar Shaker song
2. Put it on YouTube
3. Send a link to it to fightmaster@songfight.org

You can make a pattern dance, like the Electric Slide, or a choreographed dance a-la Ok Go, or something completely different! Interpretive dance! Puppets!

You can make as many videos as you like, and you don't have to have written the song. Feel free to remix.

Voting on the Dance Craze Of the Summer starts July 9!

If you just need basic editing on Windows, try VirtualDub. It's free.

does it have to be dance video? or just any old music video kind of deal will work or what? how tight to the rules are we here?

Edit:

I started one, I think I can make it work for both... finally a song-fight right up my alley!

Oh, and if anyone has any questions about adobe premier or editing in general I am a film student so I can try and give some tips or something, whatever help I can be for the best songfight idea ever.

I’m currently working on 2 music videos for this.
Their not dance videos, as they follow more along to the story...
But their definitely for the A.D.D generation.

Hmmm... Perhaps by "definitely" I meant "maybe not." Eh... maybe I'll pull something together at the last minute.... but it's looking less than likely. Oh well.
