Is that a type of clipper or file? Is it somehow related to a "Leaf Blower" ? Inquiring minds want to know.Niveous wrote:Mindblower.

It's a technique where I stick my finger in your ass. It works much like an electric pencil sharpener.gert wrote:Is that a type of clipper or file?Inquiring minds want to know.Niveous wrote:Mindblower.

QotD: I hate having fingernails. Ever since I got all my fingers (sans my thumbs) caught in my friend Sam's garage door, I have hated the feel of fingernails (since the getting my fingers caught caused me to lose the fingernails). So I cut them frequently with clippers. If I'm desperate, I'll even you a nearby pair of scissors. But no biting.
Welcome back Gert. Bring the rock.

QotD: I use standard clippers and diamond dust nail files for finishing. When I played classical guitar I also used fine emery paper.
No teeth. I don't get biting nails...I've actually tried to do this (just curious, I have no desire to take it up) and I think I'd break my teeth before it actually bit through. Nothing past ripping the nail has been accomplished, so I don't really see how people do it. Have a good friend who would bite his nails down into the skin and it drove me nuts.

QOTD: Shower, then clip with those unfolding clipper thingys. Keeps the deadly shards from splintering and ricocheting around the bathroom to some hiding place that you don't discover until days later, semi-conscious and barefoot, they're embedded in your foot.
Alternately, spastic upstrokes on guitar strings for three minutes & change does the trick too. Though it's damned bloody. Blood sprayed across the guitar looks cool, right Jim? Yes. Fabric band-aids are your friend. If only they made them with those little rubbery gardening nubbins on them, that'd help immensely. Hello Johnson & Johnson, are you listening?

I'm a nail biter. Not the down to the skin type, just the well manicured type. I am one of those people that should be a cigarette smoker, but it's such a nasty habit, so I bite my fingernails instead, lol. I may seem calm on the outside, but there is a war taking place on the inside. A real nail biter, one might say. I wonder who will win?

I bite my nails down till they bleed.
Aching from lack of sleep, my dreams have been troubled lately. Watching your friends being beaten to death by baseball bats has an odd effect on your day. And then I opened for Norah Jones afterward. Today I'm probably going to start work on a project called "The Popcorn Children," which I hope will be a largely instrumental undertaking. I'm trying to focus on music more than lyrics lately. I'll probably spend the day watching movies, not exercising, and talking about it here though.

To see others being beaten, suggests that some part of your life is out of balance.
To dream that you are beating someone, indicates that you are shoving your own views and opinions on others.
Baseball bat just has phallic implications... so maybe your sex life is out of balance.
I have very vivid and violent dreams. Sometimes lucid as well. Been working on it for a while. The problem is that I can realize I'm dreaming and even control it a little bit, but I don't have FULL control. Yesterday morning I had a lucid dream... fully aware I was dreaming... but it was still very violent. Disturbingly so. Aeortas being cut and drownings occuring. It was like watching a horror movie that I was in.
This morning I had another lucid dream. I floated in the dark stormy night outside of a coastal city above huge 20 foot waves. Lightning striking different places on shore...I landed somewhere in the outskirts of that city at a house. I proceeded to try to procure sex unsuccesfully. I can control these dreams, I just can't COMPLETELY control these dreams. It's very frustrating.

A nice short nail on the hand courtesy of sharp clippers. Your toes should always be done with your teeth. Well, maybe not. But I did hear some time ago that your toenails should be cut square across, not with the contour of the piggy. This helps to avoid hangnails or something.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

I've never heard that. I do clip mine short. I can't stand long toe nails. Even on a woman when they paint them and make them look nice, they still give me the creeps.Paco Del Stinko wrote:A nice short nail on the hand courtesy of sharp clippers. QotD: whatever's handy when they need clipping, which I usually don't realize until I'm standing there with the guitar on ready to play...
Having a kinda awful day today... I really thought I'd done an okay job of taking care of lifestuff while the Mrs. was away in California, but apparently not... the dog has ticks, the pool has black algae, and some other stuff I should have realized at the time and can't even remember now. On top of which, I was over at my mom's today and noticed that it was rather warm in the house - the A/C was set at 78, it thought it was 85 but it wasn't doing anything about it. Good news, I guess, is that the repairman is here and he has the parts to fix everything that's wrong with it... $1300, but fortunately mom is not living social security check to social security check. But it kinda topped off my day in a less than wonderful way.
Ah, well, at least it got me out of the house for a while... but it's been one of those days that makes me wonder what I'd have to give up to fix all this other stuff that's wrong with me...

Today I got paid son. Hell yeah. Now I'm at work for the next 6 hours.
qotd: I recently bought a scratching post because my couch was getting pretty raggedy. I've already made some deep gorges in that thing. Sometimes I don't even need to groom my fingernails because I wailed so hard on guitar that it just made my fingernails fall right off. My wailing makes others' hair fall out. This is all because of radiation from the super amount of energy in my awesome guitar playing. I've been working with some scientists at the IU Medical Center to see if we can use my chops as a more kickass form of chemotherapy. I'm wearing brown pants and a black tee shirt. Peace.

Sorry to hear about your other problems, but the black algae problem I can help you with. I wonder if this is why I was born, and this was my one purpose, to help you with your black algae problem. I do have a reoccurring dream that I help a King rid his village of a horrible plantlike organism that is infesting his aqueducts.king_arthur wrote:the pool has black algae
......then I float through the air over the ocean and land in some town where they beat the shit out of me with baseball bats. 8)
There are two methods:
#1. If the pool is infested, first wire brush the best you can to knock the caps off. Then add a Silver or Copper based algaecide. Do not shock it with chlorine or use other types of algae killers. They create phosphates which is food to black algae and it will make it more immune and will build a very strong cap to protect itself. This method can take up to two weeks and may require a second treatment. I use Silver algaedyne for this method. You will need 1qt. per 10k gals of water.
#2. If there are only a handful of spots, you can get a mask and go after them by hand. Using a trichlor tablet, go to each spot and scrub it like you are writing on a chalk board with a piece of chalk. Yes, it's chlorine and seems to go against what I said about the phosphate issue. But when you go directly to the spot and you scrub the cap off and you force trichlor directly to the roots, it kills the roots instantly and the algae will die in a matter of a day. This method is more physical work, but much less expensive (the cost of a trichlor tablet $2 bux), much faster and is more fun and a great cardio workout.

Also, after the problem is fixed, it is a good idea to do a phosphate removal treatment to prevent further algae growth. Dying black algae releases phosphates to feed new comers.
...next caller, you're on the air.
