It's after 3 and no Roll call. Ah, the quiet of the weekends.

I've been busy today with chores, Harry Potter and the wonders of the Wii.

QotD:
What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

I'm digging the pralines and cream.

QOTD: Mint chocolate chip, the nuclear waste green kind. Or lemon chiffon.

QOTD:
I'm partial to teh Ben and of course teh Jerry's
#1. Bananas on the Rum - It's naner ice cream with "what seems" like liquid butter rum Life Savers swirled through it. Kind of a banana Fosters if you will.

#2. Chunky Monkey - Again, ice cream with the flavor sensation of teh nanerz, with teh chunks of teh fundge and walnuts....yes, teh walnuts.

Story Time
I used to like Chocolate ice cream exclusively, but a life changing event changed my taste buds forever.
Now I'm out of control.
I've tried more flavors than I can remember
Cookie dope, rocky chode, mint hemp, you name it
Next thing I knew, I was all over the frozen dessert map
Sorbets, Italian ices, all kinds of gelatos
For God sake, I even tried spumoni...SPUMONI!
My chocolaty days seemed like just a distant memory
Sometimes when I was alone and feeling weak
I'd pop in my Israel Kamakawiwo'ole CD
I'd click it to Somewhere Over The Rainbow and click repeat
I'd just go through all my old photo albums of me eating Chocolate ice cream
Just the glow of the CD player and a few candles to see the pictures
The pictures seem to come alive, like some spooky avatar that blinks at you
Me eating German Chocolate Cake, in a waffle cone, seems like yesterday
Just me holding my cone, running through the park...nakeez
Oh, that day is etched into my mind like a permanent brain freeze
I can still feel the grass burns from the cops tackling me to the ground
Unfortunately my tonsils were damaged in the scuffle
This was my life changing event
I had to be rushed to the hospital and have my tonsils removed
Much to my delight, the only thing I could eat was chocolate ice cream
I thought that maybe I had died and gone to heaven
Day in and day out, chocolate ice cream
Just bowl after BOwl of chocolate ice cream
Vanilla? nope, Strawberry? huh uh.
As soon as I couldn't eat another bite, they administered it intravenously
But that wasn't fast enough for them, no
Next thing I knew, I was being held down by 3 shirtless sweaty oiled up male nurses
Then some big amazon woman nurse with a mustache, shoved a red funnel down my throat
I tried to yell, "I'll sue you assholes!" at the top of my lungs
But it just came out sounding like, "ahh ooo ooo ahh ohz!"
They obviously couldn't understand me, because they didn't stop
They started stuffing quarts of chocolate ice cream down my funnel
It was then that everything went swirly and echo-eee
The next thing I remember I woke up with a terrible bump on my head
I was so happy that it was all just a dream
I jumped out of my hospital bed and something fell on the floor
.....it was a red funnel Image
THE END

QotD: chocolate chip cookie dough. Ben & Jerry's is the best, Dreyer's is a cost-effective substitute. Anything else will probably require the application of lots of extra fudge sauce.

Looks like I need to re-record the "So Weird" track for Gawking Urethras, slow the tempo down a bit and maybe extend / shorten some stuff here and there. I may still use what I have for an instant hxaro or something...

A better day today, starting to feel decent, starting to feel halfway caught up on life. Plenty o' stuff to get done during the week next week, but I just have to get on with it and keep on with it.

European F1 GP this morning was fun to watch, a couple rainy spells that kept the apple cart all mixed up and a last lap pass for the win, which is very un - Formula 1 like. Best race in years. Go Markus Winkelhock!

I haven't had any ice cream since the lactose intolerance thing came up, but sorbet is safe, and we have some rice cream, see if that's any good. The rice yogurt was too weird.

Today my realtor friend came by to reacquaint himself with my condo so he could be my selling agent. It sounds like I'll walk away from it with some cash on top of my equity and so on, so that'll make for a decent down payment and spending money etc. down South.

QotD: I don't let lactose-intolerance get in the way of my enjoyment of ice cream. I go through different moods but my favorite of all time would have to be mint chocolate chip. Orange chocolate chip is also awesome but very hard to find for some reason.

Current favorites are several of Ben & Jerry's flavors (Americone Dream, Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, and Chocolate Fudge Brownie), Haagen Daaz's white chocolate raspberry truffle, and coffee.

Mint chocolate chip rice cream is very good. My favorite is So Delicious brand Peanut Butter Chocolate soy "nice cream", though.

BTW, yogurt is pre-digested and has no lactose. Frozen yogurt should thus be pretty okay digestion-wise.

asking me what my favorite ice cream flavor is just like asking me what my favorite pizza topping or what my favorite song is. There just isn't ONE definitive answer for that question.

My favorite type milkshake is butterscotch, but thats hard to find anymore.

That is a tough question. Favorite local: Native strawberry fron Benson's in Boxford, MA. From the store: B+J's Cherry Garcia, although if they brought back Wavy Gravy, I'd be all over it.

Yes, it has lactose in it - less, but still some. Actually, yogurt was how I first noticed the problem - I used to eat a yogurt every afternoon, and I was feeling sick all the time and thought it was an environmental problem. Then for two days I didn't eat yogurt, and felt fine, then had it the next day and felt awful. So yeah, yogurt's a problem.

QofD: Vanilla Swiss Almond, hands down. Throw away the top, stop fooling yourself it will ever go back in the freezer.

But I love many varieties. We make lots here at our house, especially a really strong espresso that rocks.

How expensive is Lactaid? I've always meant to look into that, but I only go to the store for food and the pharmacy is always clear on the other side. So yeah. I've pretty much stopped eating dairy because I'm too lazy to walk to the other side of Meijer.

lactaid-brand is kind of spendy but the generic stuff is just as good and pretty cheap. I think it's like $3 for 50 tablets but I haven't used it in a long time.
