Konichiwa bitches! It's Roll Call.
I'm having a good day full of bunch of great mashups, YouTube vids of SF and only 50 pages of HP left to go. And it's Friday!
Question of the Day:
Do you feel that you come off older or younger than you actually are?
This question is inspired by Bjam (nice haircut btw). I once had a conversation with TVIYH and Verbatim where the three of us were just so shocked at how much older Bjam seems. There are times when in conversations with her, you can easily forget she's a teen. And I know in my life, I have had a number of incidents where people have thought I was younger than I am just because of my youthful exuberance (you're only as young as you feel). I'm often taken as one of the youngest people in my office despite the fact I'm about to turn 30. So, do you come off older or younger than you actually are?
[EDIT]
<strike>Seems I put the wrong date on this thread. Oh well. I'm in the future.</strike>

QotD: Depends on what I'm doing. Watching movies or playing video games or talking about music--younger.
Anything at work or doing something important--much older.
I'm kinda convoluted like that.

In person, younger, always. Especially if I'm wearing a baseball cap. I'm 34 but I've been proofed a lot, even lately, when buying alcohol. Did you people think I was 34 (those that met me in PA, anyway)?

qot (tomorrow) I feel more and more that I'm getting older so naturally I feel like my posts are reflecting that. I'm 34. My friends tell me I look 27, my mom tells me I act like I'm 12.

QotD: probably older. they've stopped asking me if I qualify for the senior discount and just give it to me. last saturday morning we were going into cracker barrel for breakfast and i saw one of them ol' walker geezer guys and realized that's probably how i look to people.

I wouldn't take Tampabay Devil Rays in any bet. UNLESS they are playing the Yankees. The Rays beat the Yankees all the time. Which must actually frustrate the Rays; there's no way NYC is playing their 'real' pitchers against em'.
Other news: I don' t follow Raysball or Tampabaysball (local selling pitches...ha... no pun intended)

Hi everybody! It's been a long time since I've Roll Called, so I thought I'd stop by.
Things have been busy at work. They still haven't announced the winner of the Supervisor fight.
Allison's birthday has come and gone. Finished Harry Potter on Wednesday. Kings of Leon make up show is coming up next Friday. Phil's computer is giving him shit so he's grumpy. On my way home from work, this drunk guy talked to me the whole way home. I can still smell his breath. His son's name is Spencer too. Wanna fight again, but Phil still needs a new drum head and now has to get his computer fixed. Nothing much is new.
QotD: People always think I'm younger than I am. The people in my office are generally in their late 20s so they usually think I'm the same age and act really surprised to find out that I'm not. I hope people always think I'm younger than I am.

Not me. Lately the estimates for my age are the 28-30 year old region. Still getting carded here and there, though.erik wrote:Seeming younger than your age is like being a good driver: everyone thinks it applies to them.

Before I turned 18, everyone thought I was 12.
After I turned 18, everyone thought I was 25.
Now I'm 29 and people think I'm, like, 35. When of course I'd like people to think I was still in my mid-20s (that ship has sailed, though). On the plus side, colleagues (who are generally much older than me) don't realize I'm a young whipper-snapper and so I actually get a reasonable level of respect, at least from people I work with directly. (Obviously this doesn't apply to how I present myself on the Internet.)
Today my brother turned 24. He's always come as a mixed bag, in that he looks his age but acts much older (in general).

Last night made me hate anyone who drives or rides in black pickup trucks.
The story: It's 1:00 am. I'm hungry. I leave my apartment and walk to the village. I buy 2 hot dogs from the hot dog man (Carter's hot dogs are the best hot dogs I've ever had). I start walking back to my house alone. There is no one else walking on this street. A black pickup truck starts coming toward me. I am on the sidewalk. Suddenly something hard hits me right in the chest and nearly knocks the wind out of me. All I know is that it's a black pickup truck. I find what hit me in the chest. It's a tightly packed ball of trash wrapped in a tight brown paper bag.
I want to know what kind of human being does this to another human being. Who throws trash out of a truck window with the intention of hitting a lone pedestrian. I know that he didn't care if he had hit me in the face or the crotch or anywhere. This is not a concern of someone who does something like this. I want to know how some human beings can believe that this is something they should do, even while drunk, which I'm sure the thrower was. Why should I not go around Muncie and slash the tires of every black truck I see?
Oh, and I threw the motherfuckers trash away.
qotd: I think I come off as exactly my age, which is 22. Admittedly, when I was younger I always expected 22 to be different than this. I don't know how.

I get the younger thing all the time. I think a big part of it is that my maturity level got stuck somewhere in my late 11nz, early 12vz. I've been told that it's called Peter Pan syndrome, which I don't agree with. It might be because I have semi translucent ropes hanging from my ceiling through my whole house so that I can fly from room to room. Some times when I'm in a hurry to answer the phone, I don't have time hook the little hook thingy to my little loop thingy on my flight belt, so I just swing from the ropes like Tarzan. If anything, I'd say I have Tarzan syndrome. So what if I tend to wear green tights and I like to cut the bottoms of my over sized shirts in triangle patterns. Is that so wrowng? Besides, the feather in my cap is for writing because pencils have graphite in them.
Luckily my wisdom has continued to mature, because I almost always pay my quarterly taxes on time.

Yesterday I saw Minnie Driver perform at the World Cafe Live in Philly (she was surprisingly good, and very personable). Then the couple from the movie Once sung some songs (super good, but just 20 minutes was perfect, any longer would've gotten boring). Saw Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm in the evening at Milkboy (very funny, although the opening act was a little better than JC at inbetween song banter). Very good day was yesterday.
QOTD: People usually think I'm in college or older. I had a ring on at work today and this woman came in and started asking me about my wedding plans
(The ring was on my right hand, but I guess she didn't look closely enough). Being mistaken for being older has mostly pros and only a few cons, I think. I really don't like my age(or mostly the presumptions that other people make that come with being my age... if that makes sense), so people thinking I'm older is perfectly fine with me.

Shenanigans. I don't believe you. I saw Minnie Driver live when she was promoting her previous album, the one with the slowed down cover of Springsteen's "Hungry Heart". She did a 20 minute show and it was bowling shoe ugly.Bjam wrote:Yesterday I saw Minnie Driver perform at the World Cafe Live in Philly (she was surprisingly good, and very personable).
