I'm on the radio until 9am, at which time a dude's coming in to relieve me. I was gonna be on the radio until noon (started at 6am.) so far I've gone through velvet underground, rilo kiley, tom waits, the beatles, modest mouse, beulah, rush, tegan & sara, laurie anderson, yeah yeah yeahs, minus story, mc frontalot, oh no! oh my!, 1990s... Golden Arm Trio coming up. the new Architecture in Helsinki and Brunettes albums are being put out for radio play next week. should be fun. I sure love being a music director and finding new music. playing some Wilco tracks now.

ah... in this case, that is 100% true, except that I don't know what you did immediately after you finished up your MArch at that school back East. Whichever one it was.

I'm going to be a senior majoring in Music at Truman State University. I have no idea what I'll do after that (grad school, perhaps).

I went to Hunter College. I majored in English and minored in Anthropology. I didn't finish though I was very very close (I only had a few credits to go) because I left college to go into the working world.

1. It's not like where you went to college is listed online...oh wait it is.

2. Going there is nothing to be embarrassed about. The only embarrassing thing about there is perhaps that Sarah Michelle Gellar movie. Ugh. Who thought making a college movie with "Buffy", Joey Lauren Adams and the guy from Entourage would be a good idea?

Niv, you're freaking me out.

Majored in Anthropology (they'd dropped the Archaeology major between the time I got accepted and the time I got there) and minored in English. I didn't finish though I was very very close &c., &c. Lovely Fresno State.

Only good thing I took away from there was my friendship with the 'fighter here known as Albatross.

Left there in '91, drifted to SoCal, found myself working for odd ducks like Art Kunkin and also, through a couple layers of remove, Tim Leary. And learning how not to hustle pool.

I went to Moorpark College, got my AA, and then transferred to University of California Santa Cruz where I was a Psychology major with a minor in Women's Studies. I met Phil. He was wonderful. He was moving to Minneapolis. He told me he wanted me to come with him. I dropped outta UCSC my junior year and moved to Minneapolis with Phil right before the start of my Senior year. When I got to Minneapolis, I worked, then eventually got married, had kids, lived life, etc.

I got the job I have now specifically to "go back to school" since I can do it for free. But we don't have an undergrad psychology program yet and that's what I really want to do. I'll be at the university (for work) 4 years in September and I hear we're finally gonna add a psych undergrad program in '08. After that I'd love to get my master's.

What he said, except I was a C Sci major. And I finished.

Didn't have a minor, although I was fairly active in the music and drama departments.

NMSU, BS in Computer Science. Then moved to Virginia for a computer graphics R&D job at a terrible company which I lasted three months at, then went back to NMSU to work on a PhD, but I ended up just getting a master's degree.

Did a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Newcastle and a few years later a Master of Natural Resources at the University of New England, mainly focusing on Ecosystem Management. Also studied Environmental Law at Macquarie University.

I'd recommend it. I met a lot of Peace Cops kiddies during the 2 years I lived in Kiribati. They seemed to be having a pretty good time. Preferably though, you may be better off seeking out some international aid agency to work for, because the rest of the aid community does tend to snigger at the Peace Cops a bit.

QotD: right out of high school, I started out at Chabot College in Hayward, with grand dreams of ripping through all the math and science and going on to a career in aerospace engineering. Lasted a year and a little bit; I was getting Cs in math and physics and As and Bs in everything else and just felt like I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, but that wasn't it. It probably should have occurred to me at the time that I could try a different major, but, umm, I was young at the time. So I dropped out (thus losing my student draft deferment, during the last year of the Vietnam draft). Eventually worked part time at the library, then full time for the State of California Dept. of Health, in Berkeley and then S.F., working my way up from a clerk-typist to a programmer. Late '70s / early '80s, I took a series of courses through the UC Berkeley extension and got a certificate in Business Data Processing. Next 20 years or so, I took a variety of classes one at a time, just whatever interested me. When I got laid off, I had already taken about half the classes required for an AA in Audio Production (Mesa Community College), so I spent a year finishing that up, and then two years getting a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance at ASU West. I am now trying to figure out what to do with that degree, having finally gotten one...

Today: watched the F1 qualifying (boo Alonso!), Cracker Barrel for breakfast, over to mom's to check in on her (doing better today), Fry's Electronics and Office Max for various sale stuff for the Mrs. 3:20 pm now, and I'm finally getting back to working on loading software on the W2K computers I picked up at the downtown law offices yesterday. For the color laserjet I got, it turns out I need a "mini-centronics" parallel cable, which the guy at Fry's says only HP uses and you can only get them through the HP website. Weird coincidence: there was a guy walking around the store carrying the EXACT cable we needed, and I'm like, "where did you get that????" Turns out he just got a new computer that doesn't have a parallel printer port, so he's trying to figure out how to hook up HIS 4550 to a USB port...

"So Weird" songs are up, finally! I really am going to try to review this week, but I may not get to it 'til after the Anomaly due date, so I don't know if my vote will count or not...

What a shitty day. I showed a short I did at a monthly short contest last night, and the audience booed it and it got "gonged." So I drank too much and now I feel like shit. The short should be on youtube soon, it features music by Flypaper Orchestra. Anyway, I go to NYU majoring in Dramatic Writing.

Let us know when it's up. I haven't been to a booing in a while.
Give an honest answer. Did you like it before the booing? If so, then f**k'um, if not, then you thrive on rejection.

I was thinking University of Newcastle is funny.
Here in the States, Newcastle is a popular beer. So you go to the Uni of getting drunk.

I'm pretty sure that if the University of Newcastle and Ball State University ever had a football game, it would turn into an orgy because they'd be playing with different balls. :P
