My friend is apartment hunting.
Do you think guns or knives are more effective in bringing one down?
Also, should you aim for traditional camouflage or urban camouflage?

An apartment? I should think something bigger would be necessary, such as a sledgehammer, or a wrecking ball, or even a Howitzer.Gemini6Ice wrote:My friend is apartment hunting.

Sledgehammer offers no stealth and inhibits mobility. You wouldn't want one of those slicker new fangled layouts to slip away from you. You might want to use a 9mm with a sleak silencer to bag you one of the more elusive apartments camouflaged by the inner city.HeuristicsInc wrote:An apartment? +1 for interesting qotd.
Got so much to do today before the trip to the ATL...AND were super busy at work... and difficulty because Brighthouse (providing internet to some of our VOIP customers) is up and down today.

I'm sayin' I don't think the 9mm will bring it down, just wound it.
The Howitzer would have good range, you wouldn't have to sneak up so much but knock it down at a distance. However, you might hit the wrong apartment.

A house in Phoenix was hit by lightning yesterday, and that did a pretty good job on it:

I imagine it would take down an apartment or two no problem...
Umm, a mostly unstructured day, which means I will probably find ways to use the time that aren't the most productive ways... oh, well. Like I said the other day, I need structure or I fall apart. Did I actually say that? I intended to. Whatever.
I did spend a couple hours recording a song; tried something I've been meaning to: recorded a basic strumming guitar part, then recorded two relatively sparse bits and erased the strumming guitar, so I've got these two little melodies going on (along with a fairly busy bass part as well). Too many of my songs wind up with a full guitar on the left, a full guitar on the right, and lots of other sonic stuff everywhere else... so I'm working on trying get a less full sound for this one.
Tracks for "Memphis" have been sent off to my mixing guy, waiting to hear whether he'll have a chance to get it mixed by Monday. Still haven't heard anything about a film shoot on Friday - Saturday - Sunday that I'm supposed to do unit photography and / or audio recording for...
Still haven't started my Lou Reed cover, but we've got a couple weeks on that still, and it's just two chords...
Tonight is the big final round of "So You Think You Can Dance." I don't actually care for the show much, but the Mrs. does, so we've got sourdough and salami and jack cheese and probably a bottle of something white to go with it.

Ugh. I'm in pain. I don't know why I'm feeling so bad today. I feel horribly exhausted. Not like Amy Winehouse exhausted, but ready to sleep exhausted.
Despite my exhaustion, I whipped up this crazy thing to amuse y'all.

QotD: Problem with hunting for apartments is all the building rights activists. I guess you're trying to overcompensate for being poorly endowed. Or something.

QOTD:
Knives will help you cut to the chase, and a gun will allow you to get the lead out, but I'm going with implosion. Then I'll have the door knob mounted on a plaque and hang it in my den.
Definitely urban camouflage such as a termite inspector. You can poke around almost undetected because most apartment wouldn't even look twice.
Q. What's up with hot and spicy snacks these days? I like spicy, but it's getting out of control. I normaly get flaming hot Cheeto's, but they were out and had their new one on the shelf, XXTRA flaming hot Cheeto's. I should have gotten a clue by the dos equis in XXTRA, but I didn't. I just figured I've been spelling extra wrong all these years. I didn't realize that it was actually a warning. Then after a few hand fulls, sweat on my brow, eyes watering, I read things on the bag such as, "now twice as hot", "warning, do not get in eyes", "Do not feed to animals or children", "made with real cheese" (sure) and no trans fats...well, that's good. Honestly, I think they're just f**king with us now and just spraying them with battery acid. Oh sure, I ate the whole bag anyway, because that's howz I roll. But I was none to happy about my scorched stomach lining.
.....and I'm not looking forward to what the near future will bring.

Apropos to the nonsensical qotd, today I found a condo that I love, in the Piedmont neighborhood of Oakland, and I have put in an offer. It is a really awesome unit. It actually seems too good to be true but my realtor and I went over everything with a fine comb trying to find out what was wrong, and the best we could figure out is that either most buyers are too stupid to look past the older carpets, or most buyers are turned off by the fact that it was mis-listed as 850 square feet (it's definitely much larger than that) and thus the listing shows a rather high price per square foot.
No shitty Pergo! Very nice tile! It needs new carpet (though not right away) and the living room could do with a repainting (though also not right away) and the counters need new tops (instead of the crappy formica) but other than that it's an awesome lovely place.
Oh, and regarding the QotD: bare hands.
