Ohayou, Songfighters!

It's the morning of the 24th already in NYC, so I decided I'd start the roll call. My day today is bound to suck eggs because I took a day off yesterday, so I will be met with a pile of work a mile high.

QotD: Spoiler Alert!
What is your favorite movie twist?

Just getting in from shows. Work soon. Sleep now.

QotD: The Sixth Sense. Everything else that director did has fallen flat with me though. Signs was a friggin' joke.

Its almost beer o'clock here! I am absolutely prepared. I am supposed to go into a meeting with the big boss, but he hasn't called me in yet. Hopefully he wastes all his time in his current meeting and pisses off before I have to speak to him.

If you have to speak to the big boss, it almost certainly isn't good.

In other news, I bought a bag of Haighs Chocolate Frogs, and have thus far eaten 6. Now I feel a little odd. I think I might be ODing on chockie frogs. Ace.

QOTD: Sixth Sense is good. Does the end of The Empire Strikes Back count as a movie twist? I always liked that one.

EDIT: While I think of it, what about Picnic At Hanging Rock? That movie is fucked up. Crazy Aussie chicks on a field trip in their pj's. It sounds like a winner. Miraaaaandddaaaaaa!!!

Just what I was thinking.

As for me - I finally got Radnoise.com up and running, after a year of being on the under construction page. It's not a stellar looking page, but it's far better than it was - there's way more music on it now too.

Today's my anniverary and right now we're on top of the Atomium in Brussels, built for the 1958 World Expo, this is soooo frickin great!

QofD: Amores ??? That Mexican movie with all sorts of turns and such was wondefully twisted plot-wise. Same director as Babel.

Saw. Why? It did not come out of left field. When we were thinking the janitor guy was Jigsaw, it seemed plothole-tastic. I was all, that doesn't make any sense! Why would he reveal himself now?

But when the twist made sense of something that didn't seem to make any sense... Hurrah!

Worst twist? Dead Silence had an awful unprecedented twist, and Smokin' Aces had the most inconsequential twist.

Well - anyone who remembers seeing it for the first time knows that "Luke, I am your father" has got to be very high on the list.

I also love the spot in Memento where he's at the girls house, she's being really nice, then she goes out to here car, sits ther for two minutes and comes back in as a queen b**ch. great twist - that's whent he movie really starts to spin.

Finished Splinter Cell Chaos Theory last night (I know, I'm a couple years behind - I don't get much time to game).
Waiting for a new title
Catching up on things I should have done when I was playing splinter cell.

Sorry Niv, but I really dislike plot twists as a focal point for movies. Prefer a story that sticks with you, rather than the BOO/Gotcha moment, myself. /rant

Ben Kingsley in the grave at the end of Sexy Beast was a good closing image/scene though. Like having grappa after a good italian meal.

In real life: 6 hours to marriage. Parents just showed up at the casa with a case of champagne. Their call woke us up, I was expecting to just haul the thing in and they'd head off to the zoo for the afternoon. But nope, they came in... surprising Mz Conduct in the kitchen who was waiting for the coffee to brew. At least she was wearing clothes, barely. Oy! Too much before the first cup of the day!

Last night my friend and I got really drunk at a bar and did karaoke to Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" in hardcore metal vocal stylings. Everyone stopped drinking and looked at us. It was pretty awesome.

I just wanted to say that because it ruled.

Ok, but after this...nobody can make fun of me for listening to Blink182 anymore.

My breath smells like tuna. But thats because I finally got a subway sandwich.

Payday... was starving.

qotd: I saw 'The 6th Sense' & 'The Others' plot twist coming a mile away. I never did see The Usual Suspects because a radio show told me who it was. Saw 1 & 2 were pretty good as far as plot twists go but 3 was another one that was pretty easy, except for the 'boy'...that was pretty cool. The Manchirian Candidate was a bore once I figured it out...I'm like...'cmon cmon I want to see it and get the hell out of here. Oceans 12 was borderline 'cop out' twist.

My favorite plot twist: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Although I kick myself these days with 'awe man...I should have seen that coming... whats wrong with me!'.

Best wishes and good luck, Rabid!

QOTD - I remember all the hullaballoo around the Crying Game, but have never actually seen it. I keep thinking of the Vanishing, and how the twist would be the different U.S. ending, all safe and happy. Lame. Maybe the first one wasn't a twist, but it left you gasping for air.
Bringin' the stink since 2006.
