Konichihuahua Song Fight!
Sunday fun day
I made fried banana stuffed French toast for breakfast
Fry the bananas in butter, walnuts, brown sugar, vanilla, BAM
Bacon
Eggs
Potatoes and onions
Yep
Question of the day:
How are you doing on your collaboration list from
this roll call qotd?
Or just your collabs in general.
Billy's Little Trip wrote:
#1. Frankie Big Face - Not only could I learn so much from him, but he has the voice that I'm lacking. Although we perform and sound very different, I think I share his influences in rockmusic and we could get on the same wave pretty easy.
#2. Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Again, I could learn so much from these guys. And again, we don't sound alike, but I get the feeling we share influences. Working with them might calm me down a little bit and get me to start focusing on quality playing and writing. Yep, it's time for me to grow up.....a little.
#3. Hell Yeahs - I think I could fit right in with this duo pretty easy. Again, a lot of the same influences and playing styles. Plus, I'd love to do a "Berlin" style duet with Heather, or have Heather do back up vox or double "Alice and Chains" style vox with me someday.
Other that I for sure want to work with would be:
For Writing and/or vocals
#1. Niv
#2. Luke Henley
#3. Wes Davis
#4. jimtyrrell
#5. Wages
For guitar
#1. Ross
#2. Glenn Case
#3. Glenny
#4. Lunk Head
#5. Jason from Klown Hole
#6. Phil Redmon
#7. King Aurthur
#8. Furry Pedro
#9. Hoblit
#10. Jack
#11. Caravan Ray
#12. Paco
Drummers
#1. Leaf
#2. Blue
#3. JR
#4. Justin
Horns
#1. Steve Durand
Featured artists on my songs:
#1. Paco Del Stinko - Lead guitar on 3 songs - Bass on Coudn't have been worse
#2. Steve Durand - Horns on 3 songs
#3. Niveous - Wrote the lyrics for So Weird
#4. Phil Wages - Lyrics and vocals on History Of My Broken Heart
#5. Frankie Big Face - Guest vocals on I'm Waiting For The Man, Velvet Underground cover fight
Collabs I've participated on for other artists songs:
#1. Bass - Wages - Can't remember

#2. Guitar - Cynthia Size and the Eclectic Spoons - Woman On Paper
I think that's it so far.

qotd: I haven't even recorded anything since DRC started.
poll: Needs an "I'm Spud" option.
drc: Yesterday I finally started working on my comic again, now that I have a desk and thus a place for my monitor and Wacom tablet.

Dude! What kind of silly poll is this?
Its 2007, even 14 year old girls have issues and hitting the bottle heavily.
Ok, who ever vote NO, is uhhhhhhhh well suck it!
Fuck this, am going back to drinking.

I voted yes. I will be sucking nothing.
Except for the bottle.
I drank many alcoholic beverages last night and became heavily intoxicated. I did many awesome/strange things.

QotD: Three beers wasn't enough to ease the pain of the New Orleans Saints' loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. What a shelling. And Drew Brees is KILLING my fantasy team.
Edit: Wait, that's not the QotD, that's the poll question. Maybe three beers WAS enough.

QotD: have done almost no recording lately, so no collabs. I had thought to get Wages to do some of the vocals on my Lou Reed cover, but I wound up recording that the last day, so that didn't happen either.
Signed up today over at Tuneflow and did six song reviews, we'll see how many free songs that earns me, though I'll admit that I probably wouldn't spend them on any of the six songs I heard today... I think songfighters could do quite well, maybe we should just go do a mass invasion...
Showed up at church this morning with the bass and warmed up with the band, but just kept feeling less and less enthusiastic about it, and when the leader decided to start doing Doobie Bros. jams the last few minutes before the service, I finally just packed up the bass and went and sat with my mom.

Please, don't. The whole reason Tuneflow is so laughable was that they decided to commercialize the Song Fight concept for whatever reason, and we only even know about it because the creator was spamming Song Fight members for a while and basically being an asshole about how much money he's made off of retarded website concepts. By "invading," they'd suddenly get a lot of high-quality content and would thus validate their existence.

I think it's pretty refreshing to meet some songfighters that aren't alcoholics.

Who here is an alcoholic?

Do you feel that anyone that drinks alcoholic beverages is an alcoholic?
So anyone that eats vegetables is a vegetarian?
Actually, the poll was just tossed in because it's free, I really couldn't careless
But I do love to hear about everyones collaborations and music projects of the bands here at Song Fight.
By the way, I've really enjoyed the audio reviews this week. I like the writen ones too, but it was a nice surprise. I hope they continue.

Not necessarily. There just seems to be such a preponderance of drunk posting here. I said yes in the poll, but I hardly ever drink. I don't see what the big deal is with it.
My comment wasn't meant to be taken that seriously. I'd just like for Puce to know that whatever it is that leads to such great music being created, I think he should keep that up. Do what works for you. But is no one here guilty of continued excessive use of alcohol? Alcoholism is defined by something you do. Vegetarianism is basically defined by something you don't do. Not to mention, it's silly. But I don't really hold alcoholism or vegetarianism against someone, unless it really starts interfering with their, and/or my, well-being.
Um, as far as the other thing, I did a collab with Wages. I probably didn't get as involved with his song as you did with his other one, but I think it went pretty well nonetheless. We worked with a pretty short time frame, so I mostly let him do his thing, although I believe I did provide the steady pulse that was missing from his verses in the demo. That's my only collab so far, but this is only my third fight. I'm open to doing more if I see any opportunities come up. I've seen a few more voices around that I'd love to use on my tracks. I think it's become clear to the community that my instrumental capabilities are quite a bit larger than my vocal talent, to put it nicely. But hey, folks, if you can sing better than me, get over here and do it!

Well, here's a good reason for voting yes. At work, I believe I was exposed to some ethylene glycol vapors. After some research, I've decided that my best bet is to self-medicate with a moderate amount of vodka. I think I'll be alright, but if none of you see me around by late this evening, it might be safe to assume that I've died of kidney failure.

Hitler was a teetotaler. So is Osama bin Laden.
Now, I'm not saying that all people who don't drink are baby-murdering psychopaths - but it makes you wonder, doesn't it. I think the evidence speaks for itself. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I'd say that I was an alcoholic because I really have to keep myself in check. I have to be conscience of my drinking because if I let down my guard, I will come up with an excuse to drink every day. (like I did back in my 20's)
I'd be considered a functioning alchy though... I've never lost a job or girlfriend because of my drinking. (although I have called in sick being hungover and cheated on girlfriends because I was drunk) ( I don't do either now )
Bucs won. Who knew.

Well, I guess I'm probably not going to die. I guess my strategy worked. If all else goes well, you'll all have to figure out how to contend with my shitty music for the rest of your lives.

I think that stuff isn't so bad if you just inhale small quantities... it's mostly a concern if you drink it. I imagine you'd have been fine even sans vodka -- although the wodka probably took the edge off of that troublesome "fear of death."

I find that cheap vodka works really well at removing sticky gunk from surfaces.
