QOTD: What are you doing tonight?

ME? Gig for Terror Theater down at The Ritz in Ybor City. (A historic district of Tampa at what was formerly known as The Masquerade and yes the owners of the one in Atlanta had owned the Tampa sister)

9:00 - Johnny Cakes (awesome band)
10:00 - The Funeral Dazies

Roll Call: Sean took his first couple steps last night! I now officially have more kids to chase than hands to catch 'em with.

QotD: We're taking the boys on a quick trick-or-treat route, ending at my parents' place. Unlike our place, they actually GET some trick-or-treaters stopping by, and the older boys want to hand out treats and see some costumes. Then, I think I'm gonna go down to The Lucky Dog and sit in with a local band.

I played a show on Saturday in a Space Ghost outfit. I don't have any pictures, and that might be for the best. But if one comes my way, I'll update.

UPDATE: Found this on the Myspace page of one of the partygoers...

Big nada tonight. We live on a dead end street, unfortunately not the last house on the left, and last year the only kids that came by were from the family that has since moved. If anyone does come knocking, it'll be all trick. Where can I find me some rotton eggs?

The Hoblit gig sounds good though I probably won't make it.

Brilliant! But where's the mantis?

I'm going as Maxwell Smart, I think. Taking the kids to the local block party.

Hey Jim, it looks like you're throwing a punch at your keyboard. You should get a WHAM! graphic in there. I hope you sang like him as well, although someone here recently said that I sounded like him.

Dude, you have 10 hours to get down here. You can make that if you go 80 the whole way and only stop once for gas! (Bring a bottle to pee in!)

Don't worry about it ;-) This band that I play bass for is not one of the most proud moments of my musical history.

Tonight I am planning to shave away the hairs on my face, which I will then proceed to grow back (as a drëamy mö) over the next thirty days.

Then, because it is unlikely that moustache cultivation will occupy so much time as to exclude other activities, tonight I shall prepare myself for creative writing on a grand scale. November is the month when you're supposed to write a novel, right? I'm sure that whatever I produce will be a technical disaster. Perhaps I'll learn a few things, though.

I have found that announcing to the world that I am going to do something is a good motivational tool, and I don't want to discover in mid-month that (for example) my stubble has lost its will to live. Hopefully it will be encouraged to continue its growth in the face of adversity.

Finally, I apologize with all insincerity for any and all awful puns in the preceding paragraph.

qotd: Night class! Then work!

My throat is sore. I hope I'm not getting sick. I don't know if I am. It actually feels more like the throat muscle than the throat. Blah. We'll see.

I too have shaved it all off in preparation for Movember.

Marcus and Mad Dog and I are doing this tonight.

Aw shit, Hoblit, I didn't even make it to see Jim Tyrrell when he was in my own town. Note that it is town, not city. Also note that it was 2 miles away and not 1000. Now, if both you guys played a gig together in my living room, I'd totally be there! :)

I may do that shaving business as well. I did it in February with all that FAWN and stuff. I have yet to post the pictures as they are horrible. The horror...the horror...

HA! HA! Jim I just saw that Kazowi! That's GREAT, MAN!

qotd: Taking the kid for her first trick-or-treating thingamajig. She's going as a ninja. Hopefully it won't last too long 'cos I think we're both getting sick. My wife is OK tho. Once the kid stuff's done I'm prolly just gonna work on Maki, or drink tea and read more of the Dune saga. I don't really party much anymore since I got on the wagon.

That mustache (I thought it was moustache? auto-spellchecker says it's the first one, hmm) thing sounds like a nice cause and all, but I don't think I'm gonna do it. I look pretty bad with just a "mo". It's all or nothin' for me. And I'm extremely vain.

I'm going to give out candy also, and depending on how late the kids keep coming I may or may not go to Italian class.

Moustache is the classy spelling. I think it's a moustache if you have to use wax. Otherwise, it's a mustache.

Tonight I will be going out to dinner with a friend, and then watching Se7en. It is only coincidental that I happen to have gotten Se7en for tonight via Netflix, since I had put a bunch of Kevin Spacey stuff in my queue at one point. (Last movie was The Usual Suspects. Which in some ways is much more Halloween-appropriate, when you really think about it too hard.)

Dude, I wanted to DVR this so bad but could not find what channel was showing it.
Just know it’s a yearly tradition.
I’ll be dressing up as a soccer player during soccer practice tonight; then is off to the pub with the team to laugh at the dressing fools.

I have it on VHS, because those network bitches always play it like 10 days before Halloween and then I miss it.

I saw that twice in the past few days. I haven't found Monster Mash though - that was always my favorite holiday show.

I'm not going out tonight, because I'm tired. BUT IF I WERE, I'd dress up as an ugly middle aged sex machine.

I made a girl blush at work today; I did that "c'mere" thing with my finger, and when she walked over to see what I wanted, I said "HA! I just made you come with one finger!" We're friends, so I can do stuff like that with her.
