Konichiwa Songfighters,

How is everybody doing. The Niviverse has been awfully busy. The Purple Reign compilations have been doing very well. Already almost 200 Myspace friends, some good tunes and some interesting press. If Purple Napoleon leaves the whole thing alone, it could run and be a very cool little project. My novel, Septemberian, is chugging along. I decided not to do the NaNoWriMo in favor of working on it and I hope to get a lot more of it done before years end. I've got about 16 chapters done. 20 by years end would be nice. And I got past my impasse from last week. Woo-hoo. I hope someone give me some cash for my birthday. Cash that I don't have to put to bills or anything like that can be happily put into my painting hobby and I can do some Septemberian action figures. Speaking of my birthday, I'm psyched because I'm having a birthday party tomorrow. It, at absolutely least, should be interesting.

qotd: maybe it's just the Maki givin' me yellow fever, but right now I'm thinkin' Nanahara Shuya from Battle Royale.

Or maybe Mal Reynolds from Firefly... uh, I mean Serenity.

I look forward to The Bourne Reduction, which would basically be all three Bourne movies spliced together, but only the scenes where Jason Bourne is busy killing someone.

It was the FIRST thing I thought of too. Excellent choice. Way to show our age!

Also, Han Solo... c'mon...he was a hero too.

Wesley from The Princess Bride

Or maybe Steve Nichols, the John Ritter Character from Hero at Large.

So I am just so glad it's Friday. Last weekend was crazy and hopefully this weekend I can play a little catch-up. I am also hoping to get some time to record my entry for the Maki fight.

QOTD:
hmm, I like how George Clooney takes charge in Dusk Till Dawn, and kills all the vampires. I like how he wins back the love of his wife and daughters in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and he really rocks the tin can, love that flick. And also he pulls off the perfect heist AND wins back his woman in Ocean's Eleven +. But hero? ehhh. I guess I just admire how he can turn his misfortune around in the end.

Can you really consider the current one to be live-action as opposed to animated? Okay, he's animated in a realistic-looking style, but...

QotD: Ace Ventura..... Allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllrighty then! Oh, and Jay and Silent Bob aren't bad either. ;0)

Today I wrote lyrics and music for "One Foot Out the Door" for TF. Anyone wanna hear/collab on it, PM me.

I also practiced two songs for open mic night next Friday. Yes, I've decide (I think, but not yet committed) to put my neck out there and perform for the first time since 1998 (last "performances" were at church and a high school Mr School Mascot contest; our mascot was known as a "Zizzer"). No, "Wonderwall" at karaoke nite don't count!

I'm going to do "Big Me" by the Foo Fighters and my own "Vicious Deadend" as available on MySpace. If they can't get enough, encore will be "Last Dance With Mary Jane" by Tom Petty. Those are the only songs I both know how to play AND know all the lyrics. If it goes well, I may make a habit of it every month. I've got one week to mull it over, slap it in the face, get in front of 10 to 20 people, and either blow everyone away.... or squeak out some really horrible notes! Let's hope for the former.

I've semi-committed to hosting a beer tasting in 2 or 3 months. What else, what else, oh! I FINALLY called a guy and I'm going to start voice/guitar lessons next Wednesday. I'm very excited about working through some bumps in the road. Hopefully after a few weeks it'll start to show. :)

Peace

Software engineer. Normally we don't work this late but right now we're working on integrating some software with another team from Japan and we're on a tight schedule and there's some critical bugs going on and we had two of the Japan team members here this week, and they leave for Tokyo tomorrow morning so we wanted to get as much done as possible while they were still here.
