I've spent a good while now going through archives of the last 12 months or so (Oct '06 - Oct '07)and have made 5 CDs of good to awesome music. Of those 5, I compiled a Greatest Hits (in my opinion, of course) CD. I just wanted to put a track listing up to give props to the composers and let any new guys to the board know what songs they should check out.
1. The Worldly Self-Assurance - Late to a Funeral
2. Hostess Mostess - Gray Rainbow
3. Melvin - Couldn't Have Been Worse
4. Ben Foxworthy - Ran Away to Paris (Actually Wife's choice)
5. Chuck the Bear - Pink Ribbon
6. Hostess Mostess - Pink Ribbon
7. Worldly Self-Assurance - Ottoman
8. Ross Durand - Get a Life
9. wormsweater - It Belongs To Me*
10. Melvin - That's what she said
11. Odoriferous Valley - 10 Lies
12. White Hat - Anomaly
13. Glenn Case - Wedding Song
14. (One of mine, just for the contrast of a bad song against these good ones)
15. Spinlock - House of Hodgman
16. Gawking Urethras - So Weird
17. Glenn Case - Georgia's Hand
18. Chuck the Bear - Robot Baby
19. Ziplief - Georgia's Hand
20. Dangerous - Wedding Song
21. Thank Glenny for the Frisbee - Georgia's Hand
22. Baker - Plastic Rose
This compilation was based off of 4 of my 5 CDs I've burned. I think for every 4 CD's I compile, I'll make a "Greatest Of" CD and post the songlisting on here.
Great work guys. Thanks for the awesome songs.
* I think this was supposed to be listed under "The Shelton with Sunspots", as that line is obviously in the chorus, but it's listed under "It Belongs to Me".

WELL F#*@! you too!
I'm totally kidding... TOTALLY KIDDING YO...
HOWEVER, I am surprised that there is no ADD, FBF, JBB, MC Frontalot, Duboce Triangle ... I could go on. (and I mean, boy could I... there is definitely some way gooder greatest hits material in the archives...no offense to some of the folks you DID include)
You sir need to dig deeper into the archives. There are some real gems in there.

None taken, some of them are on my other compilation CDs--they just didn't make it to my best of CD. I'm very picky with my tastes. I love to listen to the bands as to their skill or talent, even if i don't like the type of music. This CD, though, is for my pleasurable listening.Hoblit wrote:WELL F#*@! you too!

You're pretty new too. I think someone like Glenn Case or Niveous should be doing this - they're pretty old school.EmbersOfAutumn wrote:I just wanted to put a track listing up to give props to the composers and let any new guys to the board know what songs they should check out.

They certainly should. I'm just posting this simply to give props to the bands I like. It's all opinion.Reïst wrote:You're pretty new too. Yeah, hey...anybody who wants to post their 'greatest hits' or any songfight CD tracklist, please do so...
People do it all the time actually, this wouldn't be the first like minded post.
Do not discourage this! Share and spread the love like melted butter and you yourself might just get some on yourself.

WOW!
Thank you Mr. Autumn I made your list 5 times. (WSA, TGFTF, Ziplief, Odoriferous Valley). It is pretty repesentative of the best stuff from the last 2 years.
I'm convinced you haven't spent time in the Side Fight Archives, especially the Nur Ein stuff. The Nur Ein II fight for Sister Cocaine was my favorite single fight on song fight. There's just AWESOME stuff by TAFKAP (The Artist Formaerly Known As Puce), and Merisan, The Cow Exchange, and Frankie Big Face. Plus you can hear the birth of the Worldly Self Assurace (When Thank Glennny for the Frisbee met Balance Lost / Balance Regained)
When I ask the old schoolers (Ken) what are the best songs of all time he rattles off : JBB, Glenn Case, Frankie Big Face, 15-16 Puzzle, and others which escape me now. There are some wonderful old tunes! I have more exploring to do myself.
Great List!
