In the spirit of the holiday season, I was just wondering, what tops your holiday gift wish-list? Is it a piece of musical gear? A new jacket? Some coal for the stocking? A new Hummer? A night with your favorite celebrity? World peace?

QotD: What is the #1 thing on your Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc. list this year?

My answer, very domesticated and such, but nonetheless: a complete renovation of the plumbing system in my house. A bit pricey for an Xmas gift, but hell...one can wish...

QotD: We don't really do the gift thing for adults, so no expectations there. I just look forward to a couple scribbled and illustrated cards from my kids. They better come through!

Well, I for one would love one of those myself.

I got a new workstation at work yesterday! Awesome fast. Wide flat screen monitor (and I'll probably have a regular 17" flat screen dual action on the side here by tomorrow) AND there is a company lunch at a steak house on Friday. (So... it's like my Christmas Bonus if you will)

qotd: An mp3 player. Would you believe that I STILL don't have one? I watched a 50+ year old woman WIN one at a party a couple of years ago. I'm like... this is so totally not fair.

QotD: I dunno. As long as the kids are all set, I'm good. But my folks often get me a Best Buy gift card, and I might go get Rock Band for the PS2, maybe.

(Note: I'll put em to work on Xmas cards, not an mp3 player. Sorry.)

(Second note: Wait, don't even bother. We got computers now, right? I'll have em draw a nice Xmas picture for your fridge and scan it for ya! That way it'll be there in time for the holidays.

I answering guess a large box of hundred-dollar bills would be kinda cheating, wouldn't it?

The biggest thing on my list that I might plausibly get would probably be The Orange Box. It's pretty embarrassing that I don't already have a copy. Not that I'd have had much time to play it until yesterday, anyway.

I would like a mixer of some sort, but maybe that should wait till after college; I'm gonna have enough crap to move as it is.

I just got back from a mandatory, all-staff "team-building" meeting. My fondest holiday wish would be to never have to deal with any of that bullshit ever again. Even the phrase "team building" gives me the creeps.

Who got traded? Who'd you get in return? We're ya'll drafting or searching for free agents. Looking for rookies strait out of college or veterans? Concentrating on offense or building a strong defense? I just hope ya'll got some good people that fit in with your system.

I think I just changed my response to "a 53' high cube semi-trailer full of hundred-dollar bills". That would definitely pay for the plumbing renovations, and is probably just as wishful. Nice.

QotD: The number one thing on my list this year, strangely enough, is a Marvel Legends Kitty Pryde action figure. (I paint action figures as a hobby and that one fits the bill for a good Septemberian action figure)

The big gift for me this year is a laptop. So, some nice music software would also be good to have.

Family, food and good spirits. Christmas is when I get my year supply of guitar strings, picks, cords etc. My cords are getting quirky, so I'm over due. I could just go buy what I need, but my boys get so much enjoyment from buying them for me, so I put up with old string to the last minute.

Niv - have you visited the Forbes Gallery on 5th ave at 12th street. It's open on Saturdays, and has an amazing collection of those little military figures, thousands of them! set up as armies like in Night At The Museum. (They actually make the distinction between toys and models and apologize for not having any toys from their own childhood, since they didn't survive "being used as they were designed to be").
