Revenge of the Super-Secret-Hxaro-Lovefest

Post by The Secret-Hxaro Santa »

Sadly, Santa cannot count.

So, several of these entrants deserve special praise for doing these songs on 24 hours notice or less.

I will continue to update it as the day goes on, but the only reason it isn't 100% complete right now is because the 2 songs being made are only on about 8 hours notice or less. I aplologize.

But, by the end of the day this will be:

Hehe. I thought someone might notice that. I was hoping that Erik wouldn't be too disappointed that I did multiple entries. I am actually working a split-shift at work right now, and I am on about 4 hours sleep and a 1 hour nap, because I was up late doing these entries.

Happy Super-Secret-Hxaro-Lovefest, Erik!

Edit: WOW, Deshead's "World of Screens" is awesome!

ROCK!

EDIT: Sober Irishman's song is up! He was given roughly 8 hours notice before making his song.

Thank you, Spud! There will be 1 more song later, will that mess up the playlist?

Thanks Glenn.

And thanks Erik for writing such a fantastic track originally. I hope it's ok that I gave your Cliff Notes treatment the Cliff Notes treatment.

Yeah, it's eerie how similar our covers sound. I swear I didn't listen to his until after mine was done.

Shit Damn, Puce. Why are you studying programming and not making millions as a hot record producer?

Heh... "Shit Damn".

Gotta say I enjoyed doing this song. You can easily hear the influence Bjork’s Medulla has had on me. Erik's original is one of my favorite SongFight related songs of all time. It certainly deserved to win the Fuzzy Logic Meanwhile  . Ahh... pretending to be in on jokes that are from well before my time. I need to send a copy of this song to my Artificial Intelligence prof.

There are so many good songs here it's not fair to single out some, but the Octothorpe song is fantastic, and Glenn deserves mad props (as the kids say) for his collective efforts. I still have to listen to all of these a dozen more times. The awesome-est award easily goes to Erik. If I had more time I would have loved to do another cover.

The last song is up!

It is my understanding that better drums will be made for the song, at which time C Hack will be posting the alternate version here. I personally already like it without the new drums. I like everyone's covers.

We had some other exciting potential participants that almost took part in this, and while I will not mention names, they were all wishing that they could have been part of this. They just didn't have time, or circumstances prevented them from recording. Well, I will mention one name. This almost became the return of Duboce Triangle. Sadly, Mo doesn't have his recording setup, or that could have happened.

Thank you all so much for participating in this project, so we can show some songlove for Erik.

Until next time. ;)

Better drums will come. If Leaf isn't able to (which is understandable, given such short notice), I'll at least try to program them better.

Also, hopefully with the new drums will come better production. I'm trying my damndest to get it to sound as good as Puce's, and in a perfect world, as good as a Weezer song. Not easy, either one.

I want to add that I freaking love the song "Funny Enough for You" and think that 15-16 should have been hired to write Weezer's green album. It would've been good.

# and Starfinger's songs are fantastic. They should collaborate some time in a bi-coastal love-in.

The production on Puce's blew me away.

All good all good what I've heard so far ...
