It's Superbowl Sunday. I'll be going to my buddy Faust's party a few houses down. I do it every year. We'll play Guitar Hero on the big screen until game time, thereby missing all the 'wisdom' purveyed by the pregamers. Between the scandal mills on TV and the meatheadery of the armchair quaretrbacks around here, I'm almost tempted to skip it. But the thing is, I expect this to actually be a pretty entertaining game, once you get past all the crap attached to it. Plus, it's a party, right? Cheers!

In honor of what might have been the perfect breakfast (and out of respect for people who couldn't care less about American football), here's the

Question Of The Day: What did you have for breakfast?

For me, it was an egg and cheese omelet, an english muffin, three slices of bacon, and a cup of coffee.

I had toast with jam, and 2 cups of yummy coffee.

In honor of football day, we're going to the NY Hall of Science, since all the football crazies will be home chugging beer. Superball Sunday is always a great day in NY to do things, but since the Giants are in it, it'll be even better.

QotD: Oatmeal Waffles, a new addition to the breakfast line-up but a welcome one.

I'm looking forward to a day of chores, Superbowl (I may be a former New Yorker, but I'm saying Pats by 3), recording and writing for FAWM, and I'm about to do a song with my youngest M.

That reminds me, Roymond and Niveous... we were in NYC the day the Giants won the NFC Championship game. I honestly didn't even hear anything about it until the next morning. Nobody I saw that night even mentioned it. Weird. Did you guys hear anyone talking about it?

I had a corn muffin, the coffee flows all day. I'd like to reiterate that I'm not a rabid sports fan, but I'd like to see 1- a good game tonight 2- the Patriots win. That Eli Manning is a little snivelpuss, so I won't mind if they rattle his cage a bit.

Last night I watched Pink Flamingos for the first time. Holy canoli, that is one gonzo flick. I expected over the top tastelessness, but I really didn't see a lot of what was coming. I had a ball watching it and am still shaking my head and chuckling.

Bill H and Sausagey One: I am playing the Half Life 2 for the first time as well. Good game.

I have, as usual, not had anything for breakfast. It is an unhealthy habit (or perhaps lack of habit). I will also not be watching the super bowl, not even for the ads (I miss the late 90s when .coms had way more money than sense and could do things like the Outpost.com hamster cannon and so forth).

Today might be a good day for me to finally visit MoMa SF (which I just discovered is like three blocks from my apartment!) but first I have to get caught up on laundry. Oh yes, I have quite a lot.

I didn't hear about it while at GBM. But on the way home, that was a different story. By midnight, I was sitting on a train to NJ going "Holy crap, they beat the frickin' Packers? How? Did Favre get shot in a drive-by before the game or something?"

Do people watch this movie more than once? Right at the end, when Divine(sp?) scooped up the dog poo right from the source and put it in his(her) mouth, and was like squishing it out between his(her) teeth? That part? I lost my freakin lunch. This movie was a trick- the whole thing was all "Oh, this is pretty fucked up, but I can handle it I guess" then the dog poo scene. Filthiest person in Baltimore indeed.

QotD: Pancakes, with real maple syrup. And coffee.

I've heard about that flick. Sounds pretty freaky, yet interesting. I've avoided it thus far, but I think it's inevitable.

One of my quick appetizers.
I my have posted this before, can't remember.
I love hot wings, but I'm getting bored with them.
I love Chinese orange chicken
So here it is:
1. I get these great freshly fried wings at my local grocery store. (they make a batch while I'm shopping)
2. In a large bowl, I mix together orange marmalade, Chinese chili sauce (the one with the green rooster on it) and ketchup. Don't add too much chili sauce, it's really hot!
3. Microwave it to warm it up
4. Toss the wings around in the orange sauce.
5. Pile them up on a plate and sprinkle some toasted sesame seed and chopped green onions.

I like to serve with a small bowl of the orange sauce for dipping.

For parties like today, make a few different flavors. Honey BBQ, Teriyaki, Buffalo.

I have a great fry method when I make my own wings, but it's so easy and cheap to get the fresh ones that I get.

It's kind of an easy way to have orange chicken. Makes it a finger food, if you will, lol. You can play with added flavors to your taste, like maybe garlic, soy sauce, ginger, etc.

Fluffy, I know you have an interest in cooking, and so do a few others here. I'm trying to organize a cyber taste test kind of thing. Still working on the details. I think the idea of SF giving a title for everyone to write to, gave me the idea.
A member gives a recipe and everyone has a week or so to make it, take a pic of it and post a review about it. Then a poll for the best looking dish is voted on. Maybe optional challenges would be an alteration to the recipe.
I figure this will motivate me to try new recipes and cook a little more, instead of just for parties, etc. Here is the suggestions thread if you want to add to it.
By the way, I'm not trying to whore the new forum, I would just like to see some of my friends that I've met here, outside of SF for other cyber activities. I think the cyber taste test could be fun. It would really be fun to combine the two at an SF live show someday. An outdoor event, like a BBQ with live music. Fluffy, you can do balloon animals for the kids. :P *make me a bike, clown*

Someday I need to figure out something more sustainable to do with schadenfood.org. So far I haven't gotten many submissions.

Such things are simply not on my radar. I didn't even know the Giants were in the SB until the other day. I know this makes me a bad person and somehow unAmerican. But I do appreciate how the Giants actually play in NJ :) (they do, right?)

Well, you're welcome to combine it with my food section, or just link to it from my place with a banner or whatever. I'm getting ready to add a sports and electronics forum, so there will be an array of diverse traffic flowing through, I hope.
I'm hoping to help specific sites, just like schadenfood.org, that are hard to find, become more visible from a non specific forum. Kind of like a mall or business complex, but more personable with discussion areas and interactive activities, such as the cyber taste test in the food section.

Yeah, so do the Jets. The Buffalo Bills are the only New York State football team. M's family, whose party we went to on that Sunday, are mostly Giants fans so it was difficult to miss that they were playing. Heh.

i was more impressed by mr. petty's beard than his performance

if it's possible, they're too rehearsed; everything sounds just like it does on the radio

in any case, i think the choice of songs could have been better

If think that the song choices were pretty good to appeal to an entire nation. But it was annoying seeing all the hired post teens running the stage and over acting, bla! I bet TP himself, is rolling over in his grave....and he's not even dead yet.

Now, if you will travel back with me to the event, I will let you relive the moment with my performance of...The Organizer Guy

*Clears throat and takes a deep breath*...
OK, can all of you teen looking extras line up over here pleeeze, the half time show is about to begin. Clap Clap, come on people, this isssn't a rave goddammit, you're paid to work. Now get in a goddamn single file fricking line! Ok, be sure to grab a bic lighter as you run out on the field, if I don't see you flicking your bic, I'll be flicking your scale pay check in the trash can!
Now go out there and be BEAUTIFUL, run run run and SMILE!...
