My 2 favorite bands are coming to Calgary within a few months of each other. I just found out that Dream Theater is playing here in May. They just announced that they're coming here, with Opeth and some up-and-coming prog bands for the Progressive Nation 2008 tour. I'm really pumped right now. (It's weird though - they've announced that they're here for 2 days ... 2 concerts? I guess I might get to see them twice!)
Also, I get to see Sonata Arctica live in 3 days ... SO AWESOME!!!!
Finally!!!

Even though this thread sucks, I have to give an account of how the Sonata Arctica concert went.
Their opening band (Sanctity) was terrible, but I guess that just functioned to make Sonata sound better. Not like they needed their help though. SA nailed every song, even the fastest solos and weirdest breakdowns. I also got to meet Tommy (their drummer). It was awesome.
