Hey what happened? It's past 9PM EST and no DRC.
I've had a long day full of work, blue jokes (not Lang), drama, 6 different games of Scrabble, crying kids, dictation software and good music. Now I'm finishing off the day with some TV and some blogging.
QotD: Are there any blogs that you read regularly?

Re: May 7th, 2008
well, someone really oughta respond, so here I go..
today was uneventful!
which is to say, I slept in, got high, and started working on "Robot Candidate". My hippie friend Dan has been hanging around lately. We manage to get along pretty well in spite of completely different, uh, world-views? Man, that's such a cheesy term... "paradigm"?... uh, yeah, something resembling a, um, problem of perspective. Anyway, yeah. I'm stoked for this song. I would talk about it in the prefight thread, but I didn't wanna leave daily roll call cryin' in the rain.
QOTD: nope! Sorry...

QotD: blogs? no, none that I follow. Back in '96-'97, before there were blogs, I was a member of a webring called "open pages" for people keeping online diaries, and there were a few people whose pages I read pretty regularly - at least one of them is still going, I just checked. I did it for exactly a year and then decided that I didn't really want my life to be quite that "public."
DRC: spent most of the day making sure the two dogs who will be visiting us for the next three weeks got settled in. I am very happy to report that Nugget, the big golden retriever, is quite happy to sleep on a dog bed in the studio while I'm in there on the computer, so shouldn't interfere too much with my Nur Ein and other music. I didn't do anything on the song today, and tomorrow is pretty much booked solid, but Friday I'll come back and decide what more it needs, pull a nice mix together and send it in.
Did go out to Olive Garden for a birthday dinner (that was actually my first choice of where I wanted to go). In addition to the guitar strings and picks I bought a week or two ago to get ready for Nur Ein, my other birthday present to myself was a six-pack of Negra Modelo, pretty much the only beer I really like.
I think I mentioned before that a few of us over at tuneflow had caught one of the cheaters doing their thing, and this time we actually got the attention of management and some changes are supposed to be going in. The admins actually went back and disqualified some of the scores from April, which changed who the winner of the April tournaments was... it feels like the good guys are actually winning over there at the moment.

AOTD: one of my favorite songwriters, John Strohm is writing an autobiography blog that started in the mid 80's. Now he's talking about when he was in the Lemonheads and Blake Babies in Boston right before the Pixies hit big. It's interesting stuff.
Also, fellow Blake Baby, Juliana Hatfield is writing a blog where she explains her songwriting process for one of her old songs each week. Again, pretty interesting.

QOTD. I read fluffy's blog every so often, just to catch up. I also have an infrequent look at Gleen's and Albatross's song pick blogs. That's about it, really.
I also corrected fluffy's typo above.

yeah, blogs. i read quite a few, but they are mostly blogs of friends (including people from here). non-friend blogs include thomas dolby, wil wheaton, adrian belew; some non-personal ones like pandora, new urban legends, the daily wtf, also i get my comics via rss but those aren't really blogs.

Re: May 7th, 2008
QotD: I read Brownstonerblog about housing in Brooklyn. It's a great way to know what's going on around us and how housing issues are handled, plus all the whack development plans like Radner's new stadium for the Nets and the Brooklyn Bridge Park, which is going in just down the hill from us, where they're putting in giant waterfallsthis summer.
