Hey everyone.

It's a good day in the Niviverse as it is my wife's B'day.

Other than that, I have been very busy working on the Nivfilm project and lamenting my lack of supplies. I think I'm going to have to eventually do some sort of fundraiser to buy myself some updated action figures for this film (I'm using over a decade old figures and they lack good articulation which makes for harder animations). I have already put a post on craigslist looking to see if anyone has any Marvel Legends type action figures they are willing to part with. The likelihood that's gonna happen is slim.

QotD: Do you make music with any of your family members?

In my house, my sons and I make up the noise band The Yellow Crayon is Missing. And back in the Eagles sidefight, my housemate (trust me when I say it counts) and I teamed up to become the Kandagawa Hitmen.

Happy b'day to the missus!

QOTD: No. Unless you count my brother drinking in the audience as "making music with family members", which is pro'lly not the intent of the question.

Happy B-Day, Mrs. Niveous!

QotD: Growing up, I was the only one who played an instrument, so I tried to get my kids into music early. Started wth a Fischer-Price piano and/or xylophone and a tamborine. Today, my son pushes me to play (and he's a much better keyboard player than I am), while I continue to try to drag my daughter into the mix. She won't volunteer, but seems to like it once she's been drafted.

It has been busy in MY universe lately. I just moved to another part of town into a much nicer place. Its gonna cost me but I've been needing this upgrade. So there are boxes everywhere and work has been super busy too so my life is sort of a mess right now. But not necessarily in a bad way.

QotD: No, not really. I've always wanted to recruit my uncle for a trumpet part but its never materialized.

Spudnut played the violin on our "Walking the Border". Of course, Crash (my wife) plays keyboard for us when we perform. Other than that, the three of us are generally the (traditional, non-Octo) entertainment at an annual Christmas brunch for seniors at my aunt's church.

QotD: My brother had spoken-word vocal parts in my "Say the Word" and MC Baccarat's "Step Up," and I think you can hear his hands clapping on my "Race to Seven," but other than that, no.

No DRC to speak of, yet. Life is boring.

I got my wife M to sing with me on two songs at SF ("If I Were Italian" and "El Balazo") but the reviews coming back were kinda harsh so she won't do those anymore. I convinced her to sing with me at SF Presents in Brooklyn but she really didn't like it. Also her brother played piano at the show for a couple of songs. But that's it...

QOTD: I get my boys involved, but these days everyone is going in different directions. My son's gf, Itzel, has a great voice and I've had her on back up vocals. She's shy and I haven't got her to do lead vocals yet, but I will. I think that once she does and hears some good feedback, she'll get into it.

My mom sings in a chorus so I'm being forced to sing on stage in April with her and my aunt. But I'm the only one in my family who can play any instruments.

qotd: Nope. My siblings were forced to take various instrument lessons and as soon as they were no longer compelled to do so they completely stopped playing. I'm the only one in my family who is at all serious at music, and even then I'm not very.

drc: Still getting crap reinstalled on my laptop. Hooray.

I recorded a song with my uncle one time, but other than that ... no, I don't play music with my family.

I'm the only one that plays music, but one time my family and I started a 60's family folk band called the "Henderson Family Singers." We wrote 4 songs:

We're Gonna Have a Groovy Time
Rock and Roll is Such a Groovy Thing
Riding a Groovy Rainbow
Wut a Gangsta Gots to Do

 The first three songs didn't go over too good, so you had to bust a cap in a bish's ass?

By the way, I made deep fried macaroni and cheese tonight. Nope, not health food, but holy crap, so goooood! I've seen it done on Food TV many times, but never tried it.
1. Leftover mac and cheese after it's been in the fridge and has become firm.
2. Cut into squares. I did mine small for easy handling. About 3"X3"...ish.
3. Dredge in seasoned flour.
4. Dip in lightly beaten eggs.
5. Dredge in bread crumbs.
6. Drop into 375 degree peanut oil (or what ever oil you have)
7. Fry about 2 or 3 minutes to golden brown
8. Drain on paper towels for a minute then set on a rack to cool.
Done!

The dip. Anything you like, ranch, blue cheese, sweet and sour...all would be good. I did a traditional remoulade (mayonnaise, sweet relish, spicy mustard) but with a little extra horseradish and a pinch of cumin and several drops of Tabasco. I'll be making these for my Superbowl party, for sure.

For those who love fried cheese curds will flip over fried mac and cheese.
