Fun fact: so little is actually know about Saint Valentine that in 1969, the Pope removed his feast from the official calendar. Go fig.

I am still waiting for a kidney stone to pass. I am going to try to play a show tonight, because the stone doesn't hurt unless it decides to move (it's working its way down the ureter into the bladder). And when it stops moving, the pain mostly stops within a few seconds. Very strange. Right now it's not too bad, so I'm gonna take a chance.

Oh, and it's Valentine's Day too, I guess. The kids made cards and got chocolates.

Hey Jim, how'd this turn out? Hope your stone didn't get in the way of your rock... :P

The stone was quiet when I needed it to be. I was pretty sore by the end of the show, but I got through. Then when I tried to go to sleep it decided to move, and I was up until 4:30. And it hasn't passed yet. It's still pretty painful this morning. Hope something happens, 'cause I'm supposed to play an apres-ski at Ragged Mtn, at 2:30 today.

When it does finally come out, be ready to pee into a strainer so you can keep it as a memento for the searing agony.

Yes, and take a picture of it for us. :P

edit: but wash it first. :?

edit 2: I wonder if you could polish it like a diamond and set it in a ring? :D

I've been peeing into a strainer for a week. The doctor wants to analyze the thing to see if it's likely to recur. Reoccur?

There will be photos. At this point I'm about ready to pick names.

I got through today's show okay. They were real good to me there; the guy who does the booking rounded up a bunch of young staff members to load all my gear. (yeah, I said staff.) (yeah, I said member.)
