We're still slipping. I guess the blogorrhea is losing its fun.

Fun times in the fluffyverse. I don't think there's any more polishing to be done on foodsexsleep - there's a few rough edges but I think they're an important part of the entire experience. So, tonight I'll probably get ready to burn my final master to send off to Discmakers and TuneCore, if I don't get distracted by Team Fortress 2 what with the new updates.

Also, I'm ahead of schedule at work on project B so I'm starting to do design proposal work for the next phase of project A (of course I can't talk about either project but if you have a certain shiny black video game system you almost certainly have an app which uses an older version of project A, and the next version of both project A and the app which uses it is going to be Very Interesting and Useful; it is nice to be working on things I can be proud of).

According to project A's manager, per a design meeting on Monday, I am, apparently, "the man." Also, our user experience lead refers to one of our UI metaphors as "infinite snacking." Whenever he says it I have to resist the temptation to say "OM NOM NOM NOM."

qotd: Are you "the man?"

I helped keep like eight families in their homes today, so I guess I"m the man.

I also harassed a few people for overdue payments and I work for a bank that's owned by the federal government, I guess I'm "the man" in that sense, too.

I also went to a superhero-themed costume party last Saturday as Quailman, so I'm also that man.

You don't look anything like how I imagined you (even accounting for the costume, which is awesome by the way).

I think I imagined you looking more like Dustin Diamond.

drc: Beef stew redux- I chopped some potatoes, celery, mushrooms, carrots, and stewing beef into a ceramic crock pot with a shitload of spices and some water, then put it in the oven @ 250 degrees. This was at about 2:30 this afternoon, and it's smelling *real* good right now. I have some fresh crusty buns, and lunch is going to rock tomorrow.

qotd: No. At least not at this point in time.

and then when I started uploading my songs to TuneCore for digital distribution I found out they do manufacturing now too, and they include a few services for free that Discmakers charges for. Oh well. The total price turns out about the same either way, and okay so there'll be two UPC codes for this album (of course the only reason I even got a UPC through Discmakers was so I'd have one for Tunecore too, not knowing Tunecore provides that for free). Oh well.

presenting: lambstew.com

I took some chunks of Australian lamb meat and cooked them in olive oil. I subsquently added celery, carrot, red onion, a big green onion i grew more or less organically in a lasagna container garden in an old bean crate lined with newspapers right outside my apartment, fresh parsley and rosemary from the ground outside, oh a couple of radishes i grew, some red lentils, a little bit of steel cut oats...and water. I have no stock on hand, nor cans of broth, and I couldn't even find my corkscrew to add wine to it. OH and salt, black pepper, onion power, garlic powder, and some 4-herb dry Italian seasoning. That smelled really good earlier. Smelled even better than it tastes. And it tastes pretty flippin' good. I usually do potatoes and peas sometimes show up but...i decided a small amount of oats instead of potatoes...and i had a ton of peas yesterday and today in some kind of haphazard stir fry event involving ground turkey, red onion, peas, and broccoli.

Wow, JonEric's all grown up! Yeah, he posted some photos of himself back when, if I remember right. Back when he was in college!

The woman in charge of my main project says I'm the man, I just hope the group supervisor gets the idea too.

Speaking of Tunecore... does anyone know of a digital distribution site that deals with Zune Marketplace as well as iTunes? I'm a Zune man, and would love to put stuff on the Zune Marketplace... but everyone only seems to use iTunes... Grar!

Why not just ask the three other Zune users for $10 and you'll give them mp3s?

(Also you realize that iTunes-purchased music will work with Zunes now, right?)

Funny man. Yes I know that iTunes purchased mp3's will work with Zunes... I like the Zune Marketplace better however, so your answer does not help me.

Isn't the Zune marketplace still heavily DRM-restricted?

If you don't want to use iTunes, there's always AmazonMP3. Which, incidentally, is where I buy all of my downloadable music. I don't think I've ever actually bought anything off iTunes except for things I had free promo codes for.

No, the Zune Marketplace actually offered DRM free Mp3's before iTunes did.

Huh. I hadn't heard about that at all. I guess it got buried amidst the Amazon and Apple announcements. All I can even find about it is a couple of press releases about their intent to drop DRM (although are they actually mp3s? I'd expect them to still use WMAs, which means they still couldn't be played on an iPod).

[edit] Oh, Engadget says they are MP3s. Well then!

I heard that carnitine was good for you (from some asshole trying to sell me a supplement on talk radio over the weekend) and the best source was red meat. I've also heard good things about protein, iron, B12, etc. And you know I don't trust my own country's beef. What's worse is that Publix is now sourcing beef from the US, Canada, and Mexico. I know Canada has had mad cow, and I'm pretty sure you can't cross the Mexican border without choking on a cloud of pesticide and being stampeded by a herd of genetically modified killer clone cows, or something equally absurd. But they still source the lamb from Australia (and charge out the ass for it), and I read that lamb is pretty solid, so long as it's not American, so when I see a good cut at a good price, I swiftly handle it and toss it into my shopping basket. Although I have pretty much stopped buying the ground lamb, despite my great love for ground meat. There is always just too much fat in it, and while I'm sure there are worse things out there than lamb fat, nutritionally speaking, it makes my burgers taste too overwhelmingly of what my grandmother referred to as "the smell of wet wool." I've also noted that foods you don't even like that much become acceptable when you stew them with enough other ingredients. Give it long enough, and everything blends into an agreeable pot of delicious. I just woke up. My muscles are sore. I <3 24-hour gyms.
