I'm "on the road" as well... though in my case, that means a layover at the Salt Lake city airport. There's a plane departing for Spokane in about twenty minutes, but I guess Delta thought it was more efficient to make me wait three hours. Jeebas do I hate flying.

I didn't feel it - but apparently it could be felt on the North Island. It was centered under Doubtful Sound, which is way down in the remote bottom corner of the South Island - but it was a pretty huge one apparently - 7.8.

The was no damage anywhere really, no one hurt - Fjordland is a very, very remote place (and a very spectacular place)
