Making a pre-fight thread: UR DOING IT RIGHT!

if you know what I'm referencing, you spend too much time online (like me).
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

I found this fight site a few months back but didn't vote for the first time until today. I'm also submitting a song for YND.

So go easy on me... or don't.

Sadly I have not been in a solo fight since 2006 (!!!!!!) but I'm working on a song for this one. Wish me luck with the young'un in the house.

One time I read a review here on Songfight that read something like: "It sounds like you're trying to sing without waking up somebody sleeping in the next room." Unfortunately that was exactly my situation here (Young Sir sleeps next to my studio and at < 5 months he does not understand recording time yet)... but I will submit this song. Yay!

Sounds like reviews I've gotten about 100x. ^_^
I guess people are used to hearing death metal vocals or something.

Submitted.

I recorded a take with scratchy growled/grunted lead vocals all the way through, but threw it out in favor of normal singing. We'll see how wise a decision this was; I may post the growl version outside the fight.

I'm in again. This time I'm taking a run at the GnG category. I've discovered that live mic recording has many challenges, most of which I can't meet very well.

I wanted to enter the last couple of fights, but it didn't happen. I'll spare you my excuses.

Also I have some half-finished reviews for older fights -- if you're in the first half of the alphabet. I don't know whether to post them, which would be unfair to the second half, or to forget about them, which might be unfair to the first half. I do know that it takes way too long for me to review all songs in a way that does them justice. Where do people find the time?

Double yay! What we need more of is Heuristics, Inc. ;-)

Anyway, in a rare bout of back to back entries during the school year, I will be in for this fight as well. I'm diggin' the distortion-drenched blues this time.

I'm in.

This is really a good title, but my treatment of it is pretty lame. Oh well.

Well, I wanted to write a song for this, but instead, I just cobbled together a bunch of stuff and...if I'm willing to settle for this sort of quality, I might actually be able to finish the album before the year is out...or next January, or whatever. I've realized that I have a host of problems that originate from an utter lack of a roommate, and my inability to songfight properly is certainly one of them. Help.

Do you mean by this, too much time playing with yourself rather than with a friend?
