Love Freddie

Post by max the cat »

I'm sticking my toe into the waters of commentary very gingerly. I’m lured out of my cat box by Love Freddie’s song. I want to send high praise his way. I wonder if the brilliance of this piece isn’t lost in a mistaken idea that this is some old Jobim rehash. I don’t think that’s the case. For me It’s fresh and inventive. It’s as if Aphex Twin decided to try some Bossa Nova. Sometimes I think we get caught up in our own style preferences and don’t take second looks at pieces that some how find a truly unique arc. Maybe this work is an accident I don’t know but it sure sounds fresh to me.

Wow, unsolicited praise, thanks, made my day. I'll have my thoughts on the song and others in the review thread soon.
