Hey, I have a late entry that I don't expect to be put into the fight, but I just wanted to share anyway. It wasn't recorded live, but it's almost as good: each instrument only gets one take and the whole thing was written and recorded and mixed in the space of an hour. Man I wish I'd actually done a real song for this fight. I really did have my earliest experiences of canoodling with a girl in the sand dunes next to the Isle Daupine country club on Dauphin Island, Alabama. Redneck paradise.

I seem to have neglected to mention the most important thing that makes it similar to a live fight. I was drunk the whole time. Too drunk in fact to take notice that the songs hadn't been posted yet. I would have submitted mine the normal way, or at least waited until the others were posted.

Time for reviews. Nice to know that lots of people had trouble with this title and it wasn't just me.

Abjure! - The song is still pretty funny but this recording's kind of bad. Muddy vocals, really sloppy drums, and the vocal delivery just makes the jokes feel like they fall flat. I think it would have been better if you just did an acoustic recording along the lines of how you performed it live. The breakdown at the end is just kind of weird too. I wonder how much my listening is affected by having heard the live performance and having been somewhat intoxicated during said performance.

BBABM - You might disagree but I think this sounds WAY better than the live recording. I also realize that I only voted for you in the livefight because of the promise you made (I am still waiting for it) and didn't actually remember the song during the vote. This really needs a bridge section with a kazoo or something.

Baker and LSares - sorry but those sloppily autotuned vocals are disgusting and this is an instant skip. If you're going to autotune your vocals (and you really shouldn't without a good reason) you should at least lock them to the notes that they're supposed to be instead of just letting them float around. Gross.

Billy's Little Stinko - So is the similarity in the intro vocals between this and Roymond's intentional? Or did you both get the same weirdness from a Google search? Nice and energetic, but I have trouble understanding the vocals most of the time.

EggNogAdam - This reminds me of Flaming Lips as performed by Jim of Seattle. I kind of liked it until the saxophone kicked in, and then it just turns into a mess of some sort. There's some sort of weird humor behind the arrangement and production, I suspect, but I can't quite wrap my head around it.

gizo - I like the layered looping thing. Please get a better vocal mic, or EQ your vocals better or something. Atonality works for you, at least. v

Hey it's Romer - I kept on waiting for the actual song to start but it didn't. I believe that a suitable instrumental can be a song but this is not an instrumental, it's just a bunch of loops with rambling spoken words on top that just annoy me. Sorry, it's not you, it's me, in that I don't like your entry.

Jeff Robertson - Clean enough production, dumb and obvious but well-executed pun on the title. Redneck jokes are kind of played out at this point but eh, the bar is low on this fight. v

Thanks - the vocals were more lazy than deliberate, and I floundered around trying to find a comfortable effect.

Being that I wrote the lyrics for this, the similarity is intentional No Google was used or abused in the writing of this song.

I didn't enter the live fight version because I didn't have my recording in time (?) as I was in a training class all week and things were too busy to do anything with your awesome recording (thanks!), BUT most of all...this version rocks!

So, a vote for BLT is a vote for roymond!
