Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
I'm in the thick of making an album and I just realized that I haven't done a fight since... egads, January.
I'm in. I love the titles that just sing themselves.
Edit: Oh that's funny. I thought the due date was this Tuesday. Well, *brushes hands* that's done early.

I'm in and submitted. I know I'm not going to have time to mess with it between now and next Tuesday.

Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
I thought about doing an entry.
My problem was while the title sort of inspires songs pretty easily, so far I've found it harder to inspire songs that are not just depressing.
I wish you would...
but you probably won't.

I've two separate ideas for the title. Neither of which has a super high probability of being finished by Tuesday. But I'm ever hopeful.

Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
Holy crap, I have an idea that isn't totally depressing.
A warning, though, I've still not learned to play an instrument. Instead I've warped my lack of skill in to a genre of its own.
I call my current project, "Songs for a Future Playground" and they'll get released with sheet music and the rights to abuse them. Ideally, I'd like to get finger plays and/or hand-gestures for some of them. (I've mentioned I have children, right?)
If I manage to pull off this week's song, I'll be submitting as "Mr. Beany Bellows Balefully".

I'll have a horse in this race thanks to my pal TPHD writing some lyrics.

Huzzah!
Though i am *determined* to get the song I have been working on in to this fight, it's going to be a late entry from me (unless it's a six hour late update from fightmasters. I don't hold my breath). Damn it, not only do I still find it funny on the fortieth listen, it has *four* sexy tempo changes.
However, I *need* to re-record my vocal to match the later collab contributions and that can't happen until at least 6pm tomorrow, UK time ... ah you do the math if you have read this far:)

Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
So I read J$ post and realized that both ideas were sitting there. So I rushed a two hour lyric writing and demo making session. I've gotten one mostly done and I'm sending it in, but I'm not happy with it. 10.5 hours of work tomorrow, time to go to bed.

Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
I'm not sure what I've inspired Pig Farmer Jr to, exactly, and I am afraid. In other news, a slightly less ropey version of our WYW has wung its way to fightmaster central, if they are feeling kind towards my burnt offering. Otherwise I'll link you all up at some point in the post-post future.
Also, is yahoo going bust? Suddenly it's trying to tell me a 7MB attachment is "too big" and I have to use their glorious new yousendit arrangement? F**k that.

Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
Just to "finish" one of the two songs I started writing for this songfight. Although finish isn't the word. Maybe enter is better cuz it ain't close to finished.j$ wrote:I'm not sure what I've inspired Pig Farmer Jr to, exactly, and I am afraid.
Google is evil (so I hear) but I have both a yahoo account (for spam and daily emails) and a gmail account (for music friends and sending files.) 25MB limit is nice when sending tracks etc. Also, is yahoo going bust? Re: ...Submit a Song! (prefight)
I had a very fun song idea but I couldn't figure out the lyrics that would lead up to the punchline, so no entry from me. Maybe I'll finish this song for an album someday.
