Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

Happy Watergate Day. How was your father's day, Fathers of Songfight?

QotD: What's up with lowercase band names?

So, I'm fixing ID3 tags for all the Songfight songs I have in my jukebox (aka the entire archive) and there are so many bands who decided that they prefer their names in lower case. Why?

"fluffy porcupine" was originally a minimal electronica thing and so the name was all-lowercase to match. The other silly variations on that ("entropic pincushion," "fajii harinezumi," etc.) all follow the same pattern.

My pseudonym of "fluffy" is an adjective, not a noun, and an fl-ligature has a better visual flow. (It is also NOT short for "fluffy porcupine" as if that were my full name. It's complicated.)

However, "Sockpuppet" is a single word in title-case. It is neither "sockpuppet," "sock puppet," "SockPuppet," nor "Sock Puppet."

Father's Day was fun, but we didn't do anything special. My 2-year old did, though, say "Happy Father's Day" to me, which was pretty great.
The almost 4-year old refused for some odd reason.
I myself am a fan of using capitalization for effect (TRASHWAGON! SCIENCE! Beware of the snack.) but I don't think I've ever used that in a bandname.
