Re: Booches' Burger is a (Delicious Burger reviews)
The Magnetic Letters : That's some fancy editing and I'm assuming some autotune although I'm thinkin' they must have gotten close. That echo on the child's voice is reminescent of that old 80s song, Pass The Dutchie and that's also charming. Thank you for this piece! You would think so, right?! I u...

Clorpo+Ghombie Who’s the guy with the deep voice from Jurassic 5? He always stood out and there's something reminiscent in your phrasing if not the pitch. ‘The feeling of the meat in my hand’ - hehe. Yeah, I like your voice! Dead Ambassadors - So this is the Booches Burger reference? Rocking riff. ...

Well done B.S.S.! Here's my late reviews: Madame Breathe Hard Curious combination of crunchy guitars and cowbells(triangle?), which are essentially tiny church bells! Here’s a thought: the line uttered by the P.R.F. ‘I wanna be your superstar’ gradually slips out of synch, despite the robot’s suppos...

My Perfect Robot Friend by The Magnetic Letters When I was just a little boy Sat on the dirt beneath a tree I looked down at my arms and thought If I cut them what would I see? Would it just be flesh and bone? That was a possibility What if it turned out all along inside I was really some kind of ma...

Immovable Object - The Magnetic Letters These hills are made of stone And I'm a little sandgroper digging a home I wasn't made for blunting my spades Every time that they connect with an immovable object Give me sand or give me clay - these rocks won't get out of the way Sometimes I feel like slidin...

Small world (pun not intended, but whatever)! That's a cool story. If I ever see him around, and I don't feel like I'm being rude, I'll ask him! His wife's a fairly well-known musician, but I haven't seen him at gigs. And yes, you definitely notice when he walks into a room.

Serious question: So did you get the idea for the words when you saw Luc Longley’s motorbike? Luc's bike was the last bit! I have a baby who loves being picked up and 'flown' around; I've sometimes thought it would be fun to have someone big enough to do it to me. Even Luc wouldn't make the grade, ...

@Merle: The Sparetooth song has my friend Jim Johnson on vocals; I thought his voice and musical background would be good for an Americana-infused song like this. The Dessert Tortoise song is obviously an experiment that didn't work out (so I will not be troubled by any criticism about the awful mu...

Paco del Stinko: This song is bloody great. The fizzy little guitars bouncing left and right, the sublime harmonies in the chorus. Speaking of which, I love that progression: it twists and turns so quickly and unexpectedly. Then the Supertrampy bridge - I love it. Frankly, this is one of the best S...

Ha! Sorry to trump you, Michael, but everything I'm wearing right now is 'Anko', including jocks. My friend Louis and I were puzzled why some stuff had a U.S. address on the packaging; turns out Anko was Wesfarmers' plan to trick U.S. consumers into thinking they were buying something like an Austra...

A Very Large Man - The Magnetic Letters I want a very large man to hold me in his arms I don't want him for smooching just to carry me around Talking six metres minimum, he'll pick me off the ground And on his shoulders we'll go strolling up the street and into town And everyone will say: 'Hey, ther...

Duncan Martin: I dig the story; drinking zero-G beer would be pretty rad. Great voice, as always. I'm not ukelele's biggest fan (think I said so in the House Arrest fight), but this is nice and choppy, almost like a charango. As a song it has good momentum, chugs along briskly, if that's not an oxy...

Afraidy Cougar: It's funny the tricks my brain is playing when I listen to this one. When I hear "Working on a headline" I hear "Working on a sex farm". Similarly, the pre-chorus reminds me of Play that Funky Music. I think this is more a reflection on me. Sounds really lush. I ...
