Jordan, start your web site, call it Song Battle, and post the songs seconds after the deadline. That would totally teach Spud and Jb a lesson. If someone explained exactly what the fightmasters do, and if there is anything that could be automated, I'd be willing to help write the code to do it. Is...

I'm guessing that most people were too busy with Christmas activities to put a lot of effort into songfight. Damien Verret - what everybody else said. Deaf Sale - The vocals have too much bass in them. At least to my ears they do. The music is well done. The hiss that you are concerned about is obvi...

actually, i kind of liking this in an oh brother sort of way, and the harmonica seals the deal. yes sir, i'm a digging this alot. you're not mocking the genre, and i'm definitely digging it. nice job. As the only member of Flvxxvm Florvm, I am taking this song as the point of departure for a solo c...

lyrics donation: Last Day of Free Speech

So I have these semi-coherent lyrics and won't have time to do a song by the deadline. If anyone has a song almost ready but just needs lyrics, feel free to use anything from here. last day of free speech last day of ME! speech last day to eat that peach last day to walk on that beach no beach to wa...

Re: just moved this from another thread I accidentally start

I'm not trying to make fun of anything. I like bluegrass. Now I think I know why I thought you were kidding. Something in your song, not sure if it was the chords or the melody or the vocal delivery or what, reminded me of some part of "Grandma got run over by a reindeer". After that, no ...

put a post with off-site link to song in the review thread, saying something along the lines of 'hey this got missed, but if people would be kind enough to include it in their reviews, and if the kind FMs could see a way in their busy Christmas schedules to pop it up sometime soon, I would be most ...

just moved this from another thread I accidentally started..

Warning - listening on laptop speakers, not headphones. This may seriously affect the objectivity of my review. Commence throwing of stones by man who lives in glass house: A Boy and His Dog - Music is nice, words are hard to make out. Possibly just my lack of headphones. The guitar doesn't really f...

You may not approve of the fact that Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are part of Great Britain, but that's the way it is. Wales and Scotland are part of "Great Britain". Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland . I don't care about the poli...

I..

.. am a rapdily balding, gradually fattening 30-year old low-middle-management IT person who has been dorking around with guitars and tape recorders since I was 12; with only a small amount of improvement in recording quality, and musical skills peaking at approximately age 22. Proof: This was recor...

This has a naïve appeal I find quite charming. It’s like the home recording blues. Good to hear the harmonica solo making a comeback too. I plan to go largely guy-n-guitar in future songfights. I don't have the time or the budget to program electronic arrangements more complex than what you hear...

my first reviews ever

Andy Balham - Guitar sounds like an acoustic plugged into an amp. Am I right? I'd like it better if you just mic'd it. Handclaps or whatever those are during the solo are distracting. Also, would've preferred a keyboard solo. Good song otherwise. Like the lyrics, melody, and even the singing. Anti M...

It took easyice 47 minutes to review 75 minutes of music. Alacrity ... Accuracy... What's the difference? You can all learn a lesson here, people! It only takes one listen to the first 30 seconds or so of a song, to decide if you "dig" it or not. I made mental "rocks", "suc...

Other Places I Have Lived by Flvxxvm Florvm

(explanation: Pretend you are 30, which means you were 16 in 1991, when Kevin Costner was at the peak of his fame. Pretend you live in, say, Alabama, where everybody except you likes country music, and not the cool Johnny Cash kind either.) don't wanna talk about love ain't got no love to give don't...

That's what I get for submitting before reading the FAQ. I guess it would've been an issue if I'd gotten any votes.

admission about my Leaf Blower

I didn't really write a song from scratch for this context. It's a last-minute, hurried remake of an earlier song of mine, "Flamethrower of Love". Here's the original: http://www.cba.ua.edu/~matt2/flvxx/Flvxxvm%20Florvm%20Sampler/22%20-%20flamethrower%20of%20love.mp3 I spent maybe 30 minut...
