i haven't listened to this fight yet. my head hurts too much to listen to music right now, but it seems that the general opinion of this fight is that it's a weak one.
just thank your lucky stars that i didn't submit my song. i would've dropped the general opinion of the fight from the floor to the cellar.
that is my review of my own unsubmitted song.

the wages- it was just bad.
seoup t gei- is this a radiohead cover. yea this is the music for you and whose army. you could probably do a great job covering that song.
e= - are you my 10 year old neighbor?
pigpen- kind of ok.
deaf sale- i really like some of the music here, but vox are not cool at all.
jacob lynn- alright it starts out really cool, i love the fade in and the crap out at tthe "ask not.." part. i think mlk's voice should come up a little quicker but, its still cool so far, this is the best i have heard yet. 8)
noam imalaughin- vox are comedic, is that on purpose, because i am laughing. i like the feel of the lead though.
damien verrett- wheres your voice, oh man turn that up, i really like the music, very cool and upbeat. save the best for last. I would really like to hear more voices or just your voice, if you remix this post it to somesongs please, i am keeping this song but would like to hear a remixed one.
i have to go with jacob lynn here.

(insert witty remark)
I would also like to add, a creepy tune there by Jacob Lynn. Other potential wasn't fully realized in this fight. Most of the songs are underdeveloped.
Thanks for all the comments from you all. Who wouldn't agree that it's nice to hear that someone liked your song?
And it's funny those people that just write one little stupid line like "too slow for me" probably realize that the artist won't give a shit about that line....therefore one has to wonder...why do you bother? Just to show everyone how smart and funny you are? Of course...and to give this "valuable" insight into what you thought of the song, ah yes.
If it were the last day of free speech I think I could probably predict what some of you might say. Personally I woudn't feel the need to say anything because my internal thoughts will always be free. I guess that makes me wonder...we're only talking about the connection between the mind and the voicebox here...with a little help from the lungs and mouth.
why am i typing? could it be that I'm so bored with my day job and so ready to get out tonight and rock the acoustic guitar? it could be...
that, and, this thread has just been so boring. Somebody get pissed or something...

As for boring posts, I find threads imitate fights. Submitting for the right fight is a skill in itself; had Seoup gone for "Technology" he woulda got more reviews, but would the track have been so popular? ooh, we'll never know.

So let's separate the men and the hot chicks from the little boys and young lasses: it's been too long since we've seen a good meltdown here.
Hey HANK. you dirty bastard. So whats up? you only enter one "singfight" in a year? I get you into Posi Traction and all you can say is "fuckoff"?
We'll see where that finger goes next time.

Ooh, do we care? Does Seoup give a flying fuck? I highly doubt it. Not that much thought went into it, I assure you. The vibe of the tune that was begging to be written was much more suited for this title. There was no attempt to impress anybody or to market this tune to "the right fight".Furrypedro wrote:Submitting for the right fight is a skill in itself; had Seoup gone for "Technology" he woulda got more reviews, but would the track have been so popular? ooh, we'll never know.
Haaa it just makes me laugh that people would strategically try and win these fights...It's just better that a tune can go somewhere and be heard instead of sitting on a hard drive doing nothing.

Yes, we REALLY doBoltoph wrote:Ooh, do we care?
and I can assure YOU that Seoup was almost certainly playing up to the "mellow indifference" dollar; we've done research on it, look at our figures, big money there, they're doing a good thing.
I'll go and kill myself right now. it's the only way to save my soul.
and I guess the strategy didn't pay off for us this time, but at least I won Furrypedrofight! this week. I rock 8)
Mostly, I use heroin and other opiates to get motivated. (given the opportunity).Leaf wrote:...S.T. G. 's motivations are.....
But this time, I just wanted to hear some weird noises in the background, symbolizing all the stifled speech. No one understands how deep the symbolism and metaphor really run, in my songs...
But enough about this. I want to hear about the other songwriter's motivations for this tune.
I want to hear Deaf Sale some more....i want to hear Wages with a full band...I really think Noah wrote a good song despite if he sounded like "the singer from Creed" on a couple notes. I wish Jacob had more lyrical content, and focused more on the world instead of America...
Seoup:
Lissen asshole, I only enter fights every few months because it takes me TWO MONTHS TO MAKE THE DAMN SONG. I care deeply about what I create and I'm certainly not going to turn out shit that only takes a week like the rest of you.
Now grow up.

Oh yeah? Really? I heard that you like to dangle yer Q on the snare and call it a snare roll.HANK. wrote:Seoup:

I heard that you dropped a shark in yer bass drum to muffle it. I heard that you work farts into your beats, mostly to compensate for your weak forearms that can barely even brush the drumheads.
It takes you two months cause your daily alcohol intake is 2 CASES. Thats what. I'll grow up. Grow me caack up in yer arse. At least the rest of us enter fights.

Not to point out the obvious, but you have a week to do a song for SF.
But carry on your 'argument' with one another.

pigpen: boring

How's that for reviews Seoup? A little pist? Why don't you cobble a shitty song together in one night and submit it for Stone Palace. Would that make you feel heroic?

Why bother indeed. Here's what I think is funny. People who bitch about reviews without doing reviews themself. I can't believe no one else is calling you out on that. Here's a rant you need to read, ironically located in the other fight reviews.Seoup Gei wrote:And it's funny those people that just write one little stupid line like "too slow for me" probably realize that the artist won't give a shit about that line....therefore one has to wonder...why do you bother?
Here's my other 2 cents:jb wrote:Ok, I'm about sick of people whining when they get a comment that's not an in-depth analysis of where they went wrong in their song.
If you get a review that says only "I don't dig", SUCK IT UP. If you really want to use your reviews for something other than ego-stroking masturbation, then look at the songs the reviewer DID like, and analyze your own song accordingly. If Drunkenshakespeare usually likes one sort of song over another, and yours fits into the category he doesn't like, then you can say "hmmm, this doesn't transcend genre bias". If Drunkenshakespeare usually likes the kind of song you made, then you should think about what's different this time that he may not have liked. Lyrics? Melody? Production? The answer is probably obvious.
I'M ALMOST POSITIVE I'VE EXPLAINED THIS BEFORE. NEXT TIME I'LL BE EVEN MORE CRUEL AND CUTTING.
If you don't want to do that work, fine, I understand. I probably won't either. But stop fucking complaining. EVERYBODY, stop fucking complaining, when you get a short, "useless" review. It's ALL TOO OBVIOUS that you're just whining because somebody didn't like your song and said so out loud. Nobody has ever complained because someone said "AWESOME" about their song. Don't be a punk.
Happy New Year,
JB
Damien Verrett: The whole song is fairly redundant melodically speaking. The vocals are buried but from what I could discern, that’s probably a good thing. The abrupt ending comes at just the right time as I probably was getting ready to move on anyway.
Deaf Sale: Interesting enough. Lots of different changes combined with lyrics that don’t fit really well in the melody and aren’t sung too well. The noise in the background isn’t really necessary, but you found another effect to use and hopefully you’ll find a more proper space to put it in next time you decide to use it.
E Equals: This sounds like one of those auditions on American Idol that isn’t quite bad enough to put on the “Look at these goofsâ€

I did write reviews! I always write em no matter how hard I try to tell myself to not bother with the board this time around...Dan-O from Five-O wrote:Seoup T. Gei: I’ll comment when you write some reviews. Ah fuck it, it’s a New Year and I’m trying to be a better man than that.
...to put me in the same class as Roy is a big compliment. Roymond rocks, and is a classy guy as well.
Anyway I'm just saying that those dumb one liner type of reviews, I just skip right over. I don't think about em, they don't mean shite to me. Sometimes one may get the feeling that someone writes that shit just to try and make you feel bad, or as a reaction to the previous reviews. Note that I didn't attack anyone...I asked a question but it doesn't need an answer. And I've been the one to give people shit for bitching about those kind of reviews, and here I am bitching! Everyone deserves the right to free speech, to bitch! But there's a difference between this and someone replying to one of those kind of reviews; they don't deserve replies.
Now HANK., on the other hand; i can appreciate his reviews because he peed on my amp and it sounds badass now. Besides I think Hank was illustrating a point. If everyone wrote reviews like that, there would be simply no point to this review thread at all (except as a place where people can play make-believe "I'm the A&R guy" or just a public place for people to get pissed off at each other and tell each other how much we all suck...
Thanks Boltoph, for being my interpreter...

Oh shit, and I meant Botolph not Roymond. Although you're right, his shit rocks as well.
Sorry for the misplaced credit. To both Roymond and Botolph, I think your stuff rocks.
