How would he know? And where can I get some recordings of that? That sounds truly awesome, heh. Welcome to songfight...

I asked him the same thing ;)

The song he was referencing was actually my submission for "Adonai" a few weeks ago. I have a link in my sig...

Edit: Last night I got a comparison to Enya... I don't know how much more of this I can take!

A friend of mine goes by the name 'ButterflySmasher' so i feel sorta obligated to do something for Butterfly Massacre. I just donno what to make it about..or what style it should be.
...i dont have a wife to bark names of bands at me.
I have been listening to alot of the pillows and End of Fashion so....i'll see if i can get the guitars in Reason sounding any better.

More of a lullabye than anything else. Or a requiem. I'd say your friends are full of shit, personally. 3-second after the fact review: Swap the places where your main vox and your guitar sit in the mix. Nuke the hiss with some gentle eq'ing in the higher end (find a silent spot in the track and diddle with the "knobs" until it fades out mostly, then see what damage it did to your vox). Enjoy yourself, and take it all with a few thousand grains of salt.

Oh, and the Soylent Spuds ride again, into The Stink.

Haha, I deserved that. But I'd take amateur sounding over sounding like Enya any day.

Dude, I checked out your cover of Cut Your Hair and loved it! Also, I think I saw you make mention of Tullycraft somewhere? Tullycraft was actually my first concert ever...it was at a hole called The Backstage in Olympia, WA. They rocked. I can't believe how long they've been around.

Last night I asked my wife what style I should try for this next one, and she said, quite simply, "White Stripes". Um, so I'm going to try to rock this next song. And I haven't rocked in like...forever.
Only one sytle? Mix two or more together! Heh. Speed metal doo-wop! Vienna Boys Choir & ska!
Please! People hate my stuff enough as it is. A friend of mine actually said one of my songs sounded like a gay, yodelling cowboy the other day.
i dont think people hate your stuff at all, you have depth of style and that really says alot. we cant please everyone all the time. you do a great job of staying true to your inspiration. let it flow.
im looking forward to your clouds submission...mine is going to bite,
partly because ive lost my vioce this week and its only halfway back..
but on the otherhand it sounds kinda smokey and grainy so maybe it will work for this one.
pound it.
Thanks for the frisbee is on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music ect.

tomdg is peeved at his lack of votes so he's going to be spending the weekend pulling the wings off every flying insect he can find.

Or maybe he'll just submit a song called "butterfly massacre" to songfight instead. Someone else will win, I'll just be among those being massacred.

2 entries - 0 votes - not likely to beat that this time either, but I sort of like the lyrics. Or the idea, at least.

Clapping, hooting, hollering, most of all stomping. These are things that make dorm-mates unhappy at midnight. Almost done with "Butterfly Massacre."

So I entered my Clouds Were Touching The Ground, and I think the musical part of it is pretty good, but the singing is pretty off ... I really like the concept of my song, but the voice really didn't turn out quite how I wanted it too. That's my warning. Oh, and I avoided a lot of the reverb this time, to make it sound less processed.

I just submitted a song for Butterfly Massacre that I feel pretty good about.
