A lot of people pointed out that our singer, Thröat, pronounced Massacre wrong. So true. In our defense, Thröat can't read very well. I wrote the lyrics and he sang them when I wasn't around. He sort of just sounded everything out the best he could.
I'll try to be there when he records next time so I can help him out.
On the other hand, that Leaf tune röcks so hard.
So.
Hard.

Caldor
I like the way this starts. And I like the way it continues. Unfortunately, the sound isn't anything new, so I'm a little tired of it halfway through. Well produced and recorded, but the songwriting doesn't really stand out as anything special. Ending is kind of abrupt.
Chekhov's Pistol
The vocals are a little quiet. I like how loose this is. A good thing that it's short, it'd be hard to keep something like that short.
Damien Verrett
This sounds weirdly sped up. I'm not sure what to think of it, really. It's disjointed, yet charming, but possibly annoying.
Bombathon
You've titled your song "a cool preset for 3xosc." That tells me that you weren't thinking about butterflies or massacres when you wrote this.
Demön Kiss
The umlaut says it all. Your metal voice isn't very convincing, though. Sounds like it should be just a little bit more Blind Guardianish
Destruction Enterprise
You've got a theme, let's go for variation.
.ephedream
With the word "massacre" in the title, I suppose I shouldn't be suprised at all the metal. Unfotunately, this one is really overcompressed, and no attention at all was paid to the drums, which I consider one of the most important parts of metal.
Flvxxvm Florvm
Vocal needs to be louder, it sounds amusing. I can't really tell what you're saying, so I really hope amusing is what you were going for. It relies on the guitar a fair bit more than it should.
thehipcola
I really like the music, but the dialogue is distracting and irritating, particularly the "adult."
Johnny Cashpoint
I have no complaints with this at all. Nice.
Leaf 62
And it's metal time again! Best of the metal so far, I think. I like that you're not trying to force your voice to do things it can't. Works out really well.
Luke Henley's Heartland Choir
And this is about as un-metal as it gets. Totally awesome, just the same. Easily my favorite so far.
middlemarch
There are some production issues (mostly a lack of high-end), but overall, this works. I want to hear some more happen in the percussion, though. Not that I need Krazy Persushion, but it's largely the same thing over and over, and it would have been nice for it to change up once in a while.
penguin map mijinko
This starts off... on the fence. It's tough to pull off quirky stuff like that. *waits* Aaaand... no. It never goes anywhere, so nothing really comes out of the quirkiness, and it just ends up being flat. It needs to change and build.
Phil's First Tambourine
A tambourine AND a shaker! Nice whispering at :52. I want more of that, instead of another verse right away. Still nice.
PiGPEN
Do I sense more metal? Um. Maybe? The vocal is pitch shifted/delayed/reverbed into nonsense, so I have no ide what's going on. Makes me think of Beseech's cover of "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight).
Pr0n 4 Uma
I was worried from the band name, but this is pretty rockin'. Great energy thorughout. Good guitar solo. Well done.
Stubby Phillips
The midi'd drums are absolutely killing this for me. Sounds okay, but sparse otherwise. But you NEED a drummer in a bad way.
Tom di Giovanni
Political stuff turns me off, but then it's redeemed by chaos theory! Standard gng, nothing worth mentioning, but nothing bad, either.
wreckdom
I don't usually like wreckdom's stuff, but I'm won over by the phrase "spore thingies."
Winner: Luke Henley, by two lengths.

Fistula - and there was me thinking the pronunciation (massacree) was a tribute to Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant". Thröat is a great name
Is that pronounced "throw-at"?
Jeff Robertson - sorry if I caused any offence on the Katrina front. The song was only supposed to cause offense to gung-ho pro-Bush SUV-driving climate-change-denying Republicans. Like most people here in the UK, I was horrified by what happened in New Orleans. I held a kind of solidarity dinner with some friends where I cooked gumbo and red beans and rice, no doubt so badly that any true New Orleanean would have taken it as a deep insult.
If you want to watch a good slapstick comedy about the holocaust, I suggest Roberto Benigni's Life Is Beautiful.
Jim of Seattle - glad you liked the song. "Not a single sincere song in the bunch". I was trying to be sincere, honest! I was just using ridicule to make the point. As maths grad I'm a big fan of reductio ad absurdum. But hey, I won't split hairs. Agreed about the guitar parts and the length, though. It needs a lot more work, not least a proper arrangement, and I should probably cut the final chorus. Thanks for the comments.

Hey no, fuck that. The first song I ever entered in here was not made from the title, it was like vishnu cycle or some shit, but every song I've entered since then has been my complete interpretation on the title. I don't know why it says that, because I exported it as DankasaurasRex_BM. Don't be a narrowminded douche.

Sometimes Iwonder...and I think, what if I werent so good at doing everything, that maybe just for one day I wouldn't be infinitely better than everyone else and I wouldn't have to hurt all your feelings.

Another popularity contest concludes.
I dont' often think that my solo stuff is "the best"... and I'm not disappointed at all, strangely, in the result. I think it's cause I know I wrote a winner this week. It just didn't win...but it sure made me feel... released.
I know I did something this week that I've wanted to do for a long time. It was true. Funny, cause it started as a joke...sometimes the best things do.
Congratulations to Luke.
