Also, don't think for a second that Songfight is a completely anonymous haven for your spouting. Band members from both bands in question discovered my bitch-thread from last month, and none of them are songfighters. Puce can attest to the real world finding the songfight world thing.

I like reading this and looking at your avatar, Leaf.

I'm twenty years old, and dated a twenty-six year old for a little while. She was kind of skeeved out by it sometimes. I was not. Then, I graduated HS at 16. Whatever.

i second this.
these has cause me so much amusement for the last 2 days, my belly hurts from all the laughing.

Its your life Rone (mike...), as long as you treat people with respect and know their actual humans beings with thoughts, felling and emotions , even if it ends up being an immature 18 year old girl. also don't go psycho if she ends up dumping you after 6 months or so.
as for the original question, yes i think 27vs18 its creepy, but then again its more about maturity level than anything else.

Like Jack said, enjoy the ride...just sometimes you want to use your head and not your heart/pennis, and god gave man only enough blood for one of those systems to work at a time.

ok am done.. wait wait... one more laugh.

.
That brought my biggest laugh of the day...

I feel not one shred of guilt.
I do however, find it interesting that Rone changed every post to "I'm done". This tells me he's getting the point.

Next step: determine if the age gap is a problem. If not, ASK HER OUT.
If so, move on to your next target.

Might I suggest Meridith in the meat department? She's 25. Perfect for ya.

Leaf is Canadian?
Yep, and also, I always find that Canadians are extremely patriotic. In general, at least much more so than Americans (esp. these days).

Never! We love this thread.

I just want to mention, as a man, you should consider:

1. How important is your job to you? If you're going to quit anyway, then go for it!!!
2. Go for it. Ask her out like Leaf was saying. Then you can see if it might work out, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. Nothing lost. But first, address "1." As far as her being 18, no biggie. She might like guys a little older. Someone else mentioned that if you're going to do it, now is the time. Just go for it. If it messes with the job, get a new one. If it messes with your head, write some songs for emotional release.
3. If you don't go for it, write some songs about it. Then join a dating site where you can meet a plethora of 18+ women. ;-)

I might mention, I dated a girl at work. We went out once and then didn't go out again, I don't think we were that into each other. I'd still see her at work and it was really no big deal, although I didn't see her every day, she worked in a different dept.

Funny, because that is the exact opposite of what I got out of it. I imagine this guy with fingers in his ears, singing, "lalalalala I can't hear you try to tell me about the possible negative consequences of my actions lalalala." That's only my overactive and heavily medicated imagination, though.

But see, the cool thing about young 'uns is they just don't know certain things: Like say you do get her in the sack, you can pull the old "No baby, it goes there too. Everybody likes it! Oh, you should at least try it before you decide you don't like it..."

Line crosser.

I meant he got it in terms of realizing that the songfight board is NOT a secure, private location to discuss dating.

I mean, discuss it, by all means. It's just not... you know, very private.

As the father of a 19 year old young woman, I just gotta say I'm glad I didn't stumble on this thread until now. Everyone who said "Dad would be pissed" was pretty much spot on. Partially because of the age thing but mostly because Rone's life doesn't seem to have much direction right now. I gathered from what Rone couldn't delete that he just got out of a pretty messed up relationship, and that after a week or so of bagging groceries that he's keen on some young co-worker. As a father I would have a lot of questions about why he's interested in my daughter and what his plans for the future were.

Although the lack of a Driver's License and the thought of authorities having to identify him by his dental records has certain inherent advantages.

Patriotic? Is that why when you see Canadian backpackers, they have fucking maple leaves tattooed/ironed-on/stitched to every square inch of their bodies and all of their belongings? I thought it was just because they didn't want to be mistaken for Americans.

Way back in my army days, a couple of my buddies sewed Canadian flags on their (civilian) back packs so as not to be mistaken for US citizens when they went on a trip through Europe. Start up your seppo sniffer, Ray, next time you see the maple - it might be an Iowan going incognito.

Yes, it does sound mythy. I have no idea if any Iowans or whomever go about doing that, but I could give names of the guys I saw go on leave with their little flags sewn on. One was from Cleveland, the other from San Francisco. They are also the two that left me passed out a concert with the words "drunk again" literally written on my face. I have photos of that, but luckily I am incapable of sharing them!
