Update: Geaux Saints! Hey, they might actually win a game! It's 28-10 over Seattle at half time.
I decided against going out to watch the game, and instead I'm listening to it on my computer. And I had the bright idea of telling myself I'd do a Jager shot for every touchdown New Orleans scored, fully expecting to go to bed pretty sober. I may have to wave off for the second half.

Ah, yes. It's fan de-tox season here as well. I love the drool inducing drone of the fan. I still use one from when I was a kid, it even has a couple of now all black crayon stubs in the bottom from sticking them in the spinning blades a long time ago. I call it Big Boy. I've almost considered one of those white noise machines but, I dunno. Too weird, maybe?
The sip of water does help me sometimes if my mind is racing while trying to sleep. But I think it's more about focusing on one thing at a time versus scattered thoughts darting about. Counting a different sheep, I suppose. Sometimes just getting up and reading is the answer instead of flopping around and punching pilows.

Bringin' the stink since 2006.

The other night my brain kept going on and on about dumb stuff (a la SB). After a while I started trying to solve a cryptic crossword, but my brain was too tired to get any answers... however I fell asleep staring at it, haha. Distracting the brain from stupid stuff with incomprehensible stuff worked that time.
More often I am doing something late at night, and don't want to go to bed. Still means I don't get enough sleep, though ...
