QOTD:
Every time the FMs put up a new song in the "Five Years Ago Today" on the front page, or however far back they go each time, I listen to the song. I've never missed a single one since I joined last November. Right now they have "State Shirt - Back To The Airplane" listed. Fucking great song! I'd feel like Steve Martin did in the Jerk if I ever see my name on that list. He hates these cans!. Stay away from the cans!
I often go back through the archives. Mostly when a member shows up with an old joined date and I don't know them, but everyone says hi as if they're old friends. So I go back to see what they've done.
Just recently "The White Hat" came back, so I went and listened to his stuff, and you can clearly hear him developing a style from fight to fight and how he grew as a musician. I love seeing/hearing that.
I hate to say that I tend to take Song Fight, in general, for granted. Not intensionally, but I just feel that SF will always be here on my computerized thingy everyday when I push the any key.
I'm not really as interested in SF's history, as much as I am interested in the members and the history of their music. I LOVE original music in every way. I honestly never disregard a song for bad recording abilities. In fact, I've found some great writers and composers here that I admire.
The first time I ever heard Brad Sucks was from sifting through the achieves.
I've found so much organic original music here, and there is more coming everyday. But more importantly, musicians are actually developing their sound here right before our very ears.
