I grew up in Gurdon, Arkansas. Though I have not often been to Memphis, Tennessee, it seems like home to me. Thus, a song came together almost instantly, and as the coming week will be very burdened with work, I went ahead and turned it in. I hope this one uploads without cutting out, but I know thi...

Thank you, everyone, for the comments on the songs thus far. I'll give my comments this weekend. My song inexplicably "cuts off" well before it finishes, although when I play the mp3 on my system it seems to play all right. I'll have to work next time I enter a fight to make sure I don't m...

Dissonance, bells, carnival melodies, odd percussions.

I'm in.

Anomaly. Sums it up.

I am still much more used to making ambient soundscapes than traditional songs, but it's fun to learn by doing (or failing to do) and by listening to the good jobs others do.

A lot of good songs in this one, of which my own was not one. AdamAdamant--nice synth intro. The vocals fit well, but the lyrics are intermittently indistinct. The virtual percussion somehow fits. I like the melody between the vocal sections. This quirky number somehow works for me. More breaks with...

"So Weird" is a good, flexible title.

I wrote a song with this title, in which I try to be more acoustic, simpler, and sample-free.

Thanks, Denver, it's that parenthetical that I was not seeing.

hi there: I've finished my song for "Ottoman". As the title is one word, would the fightmaster prefer gurdonark_o as the song title, or gurdonark_ottoman I want to make it uniform with what everyone else is doing, to minimize the work for the fightmaster. I love getting 3/4 of the way thro...

I'm nearly done with mine. The song I put on the tracks is not nearly as much fun as the song I hear in my head, but it's a new experience to compose for a singing voice, and to sing. I figure I can only improve, as getting worse is unlikely.

Re: Great job, y'all

I completely mangled that metaphor, practically to the point of malaprop.

The gold was alloyed with lesser metals would have been better, but still a bit clunky.

Great job, y'all

Although as a newbie I suppose I should wait until all other votes are counted, I found a space of spare time during this holiday, jotted down my notes, and am posting away. Great fun listening to these songs. Y'all have a lot of great ideas. Here's my reviews: Carpetburn--great melodic intro. The s...

It might benefit from more variation.

Cats certainly deserve the exposure--they deserve more adoptions, too!

I figured that vocals would pretty much be required, which appealed to me, because I so rarely record them well, though I love to sing. I'm much more apt to use a spoken word or field recordings as samples instead of a sung track--but I did make an exception lately for a track about animal adoption,...
